What the Dallas papers are saying about Lions vs. Cowboys
Thought some of you might enjoy what they are writing about the game in the Dallas Morning News:
"The Lions have won three road games after going three years without a road victory. They are playing much better football. Joey Harrington will not suffer the same meltdown of a year ago because the line is better and he has more options. Kevin Jones could have been a Cowboy but wasn't, and he will turn in this weeks top rushing effort. The Lions recorded six sax last week vs. the Giants, and they know where Vinny Testaverde will be. The Lions have turned into last year's Cowboys."
In another piece in the DMN:
"Here are the only significant statistical differences between the 2-4 Cowboys and 4-2 Lions:
* Detroit is tops in the NFL in giveaway/takeaway margin at plus-10, and the Cowboys are tied for 25th at minus-five.
* Detroit is No. 1 in the NFC in converting once it gets inside the red zone, the Cowboys are ninth.
Detroit doesn't make mistakes; it forces them. As for how a team does once inside the 20, a couple of areas need to be examined.
Could be talent. In Detroit's case, Joey Harrington has a good young running back in Kevin Jones as well as a monster unleashed, Roy Williams."
