Lions one game out of playoffs???
if Green Bay beats the Rams tonight the Lions will be only one game out of the final wildcard spot. Can you believe it?
The wild and wacky NFC...

you gotta love how we can give up 41 to Indy and yet we're close enough to the playoffs we can taste it.

I don't know about wild and wacky, but I can settle for pretty weak. Either way, if it means the Lions can get into the playoffs I'll take it. If you look at their remaining schedule, 3 out of 5 should be wins (zona, chicago and tennessee). The other 2 may be winnable (green bay and minnesota).
Ditto on Joey messing up the quarterback situation. Watch him come out and have the game of his life. As long as they win, I don't care if Old Man Ford is throwing the ball.[/i]

I can see us making the playoffs.
We should have beat Minnesota in Minnesota, and when they come here, we will be prepared, although they have Moss back.
Arizona is going to be a win, mark my words.
Tennessee could be a win, as McNair can't fight his injuries, same with Chris Brown. They are in trouble right now.
Chicago is the only offense worse than Detroit right now.
I could see us 3-2 or 4-1 the last 5 games of the season. That would give us 7-8 wins (my prediction), and probably put us in the playoffs. But one little stumble will cost us, as there are other teams in the hunt that are better than us.
Should be a great fight until the end.

I don't see the Lions winning in Green Bay, so that would make the best we could do is 8-8, which just might be enough in the WEAK NFC.
The sad part is we have thrown away some games (Washington, Jacksonville and Minnesota) which easily could have been wins with a couple of breaks or a couple of defensive stops.

I would much prefer a playoff spot when deserved...rather then be humilated (like on Thanksgiving) playing vs real teams. I hate backing into the playoffs blindly

That's a good point, but you figure if we do back into the playoffs as the 6th seed, we wouldn't face Philly in round 1. It would be a road trip to possibly Atlanta, Green Bay (ugh), Minnesota, Seattle or St. Louis. I don't like road games at Green Bay, but any of the others would be winnable by our beloved Lions.

Wow! I have to say it's nice to see the optimisim some of you have. I really can't make myself beleive they can do it...But then again it's not over till it's over.
Division Leaders
East- Philly (10-1)...I think they've clinched it.
West- Seattle (6-5)
South- Atlanta (9-2)...Hey the Lions gave them one of those L's!
North- GB/Minn (7-4)
1st Wild Card Spot
GB or Minn (7-4)...I would say that's more than likly
2nd Wild Card Spot
St. Louis & NY Giants (tied 5-6)
Still Alive!?!
Detroit (4-7)
Arizona (4-7)
Dalles (4-7)
Tampa (4-7)
New Orlean (4-7)
Carolina (4-7)
Chicago (4-7)
I'd say playoffs would be a small miricle at this point, but hey "Do you beleive in miricles!?!" Go Lions!

I truly believe that 8 wins will be enough for the wildcard, and 7 wins would be a possible birth. We have as good of a shot as any other team.
