 SS Problem
With all the talk about Darious and Kennedy i wonder if we really need a old safety. All though short term it seems good but long term we will just have the same problem in a couple of years we need Thomas Davis and trade our 2nd pick for 2 3rd rounders PS this draft really does suck

Darius is still productive. In fact he had his most productive secondary year this past season. Just think, he could've done that in Detroit. I don't see any decline in him.
Kennoy is at the prime age where a player has the right balance of experience without decline. The next couple of years should be his best.
And I think the lions will take advantage of the drafts abundance of late first round to 3rd round value safety's, regardless of who they sign in free agency.

if that is true the lions would have their four current safeties (marion, holt, walker x 2), a fa (darius or kennedy) and a draft pick. that would give the team 6 safeties, they usually carry only 4. would they drop one or both of the walkers then?

First off Darius is only 30! But that's not the issue it's the fact that he wants too much money and you would have to give up draft picks to get him.
Second Kennedy is only 27 and is entering what should be the prime of his career. Signing Kennedy would also allow the Lions to cut Marion and start Holt in his place. You wouldn't put Holt back there with rookie.
Finally there are two many questions about Davis like is he even a first round draft pick or can he even play safety in the NFL.
Like all drafts there are plenty of good players you just have to figure who there are and draft them.
Oh yeah right, it's all Harrington's fault the Lions suck.

Brian Walker was released, actually.
But you are right, that would give us 6 safeties. Because Vernon Fox was tendered (for no compensation) and will be back with the team next year.
