When in the draft do we pick a guy and who do you want. I like Lefors in the 4th or Orton in the third

Welcome to the LB forum detroitrocks! I just started another thread on this same subject, I'm liking McPherson in the 3rd right now. IMO he has a lot more upside than Orton or Lefors.

I like LaFlores from Louisville in the 3rd

LeFors has to put too much into a throw to toss the long ball...he's got sort of a "noodle arm" as do most of the QBs in the draft. Most of the QBs in the draft are better fit for a short passing game. I don't think we'll take one in the 3rd...4th at the earliest. I like Andrew Walter (should fall to day 2 due to his shoulder injury, (Kyle Orton's good, and should be there by the time we pick in Rd 4), and Stan Hill.

Orton doesn't do well under pressure in the pocket and will never succeed in the NFL without getting some psychological help (no I'm not kidding, I'm serious, the boy has problems). LeFors is a big reach in rounds three or four, IMO. I would think that Derek Anderson in round six would be good. I don't expect a multitude of QB's to be taken in this draft, maybe 10-12 at the most.

Aaron Rogers - 1st
Alex Smith - 1st
Jason Campbell - 2nd
Adrian McPherson - 2nd
Charlie Frye - 3rd
Andrew Walter - 3rd
Kyle Orton - 4th
Dan Orlovsky - 4th
David Green - 5th
Derek Anderson - 6th
Gino Guidugli - 7th
Brock Berlin - 7th
Stefan LeFors - 7th

The latter three may be undrafted.

No love for Ryan Fitzpatrick?

I don't think he'll be drafted. I know he's a Harvard grad and scored perfect on the Wonderlic, but try telling that to the defensive end bearing down on you.

I'm with Pablo I like the idea of taking a 3rd round risk on McPherson BUT I don't know if he'll slide that far when many teams are looking for young QB's. I've seen him as high as the 3rd rated QB in the draft. If Joey Ballgame doesn't improve (good bet) and Jeff Garcia stays fragile (good bet) why hedge both bets with a BIG maybe for 3rd string. There is no safe bet at QB in the draft (i.e. Mirer and Leaf)...so GO BIG or go to the Bears.

Someone like Ryan Fitzpatrick in the 6th round and take someone like kevin dudley FB in the 7th so we will have a replacement when corey is done. I detroit takes someone like Shawne Merriman in the first or Marcus Spears.

I know we will not draft him but Campbell from Abrun looks good. I think he will go early second or late first.
