 Lions cut Anderson, Page, Ansel & Fife The Lions have cut WR Scotty Anderson (wow), OG Solomon Page (small wow), QB Jason Fife and P Nick Ansel. Couple of surprises there at this point in camp... Working on a quick story for the front page - back on the boards in a bit - give me your thoughts..

Just read this on an AP release. Nice to see it up here already.
I am not sure how I feel about this. It seems strange that Anderson would get cut this early. Perhaps the injury he suffered last year has not healed.

He did miss the end of the season but I didn't notice any problems in the preseason. It is kinda shocking but Kircus fans can breath a little easier (just a little.) 
BTW - a brief story is already up on the LB front page. Breaking news, we got it...

Nice to see that Lionbacker was the first place I saw this information, and it was up before ESPN, Yahoo, or other places I look for information. It's fairly obvious that Lionbacker sets the standard!

Nick - yeah he is the other punter - opps.
I've also heard from a source that their may be other cuts including UFA TE Matt Brandt - can anyone confirm this?

i'm very surprised about anderson. guess kircus, drummond and swinton battle it out for the last 2 wr spots. great job guys getting the story up so quick.

Did I call it, or did I call it? He lasted a little longer than I thought he would.
Mariucci said that he wanted the 5th and 6th WR spots to be delegated towards special team players (in other words, Swinton and Anderson are going to be our 5th and 6th string WRs)
