Actually, it was his achilles. You have to give him some credit, the Lions took him in the 6th round back in 89' - yes same draft as Barry. He hung around the league a long time made it to the Super Bowl - how many players drafted by the Lions can say that?
My favorite Rodney Peete memory was early in his career he handed the ball to Barry on a sweep right on about the opponents 40-yd-line, Barry stopped on a dime and reversed field. Peete put his hands up and signaled TD before Barry even crossed the line of scrimmage and held them up until Barry crossed the goal line.
Plus he married actress Holly Robinson ("21 Jump Street," "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper"). Together they started the Hollyrod Foundation - dedicated to providing financial, physical, and emotional support for patients living with Parkinson's disease and their families and caregivers.
