San Diego is a small surf town that grew into a city, but still has a very laid back vibe and laid back people. LA is a huge metropolis full of all kinds of pretty much everything. Two totally different places and people. I have no idea why the teams haven't stayed in LA. Maybe the cost of keeping the team there. It's definitely higher than other markets.
