 Super Bowl XLIV Predictions/Thoughts
For the first time in a long time, the top seeds from each conference have advanced to the Super Bowl. This ought to make for an exciting game with two high-powered offenses battling it out. However, if the Saints play like they did against the Vikings, I don't think they stand a chance.

I'm hoping for something a little more competitive and SBs as of late have been pretty decent for the most part but Manning will not make the same mistakes as Favre and if the Vikes could move the ball like that just imagine what Indy will do.

I think this game is going to be somewhat similar to the Minny-Noleans game. Both teams will score early, quickly. But once the defenses get settled in, the offenses will start to stutter somewhat.......until the fourth quarter. At that point, I think Manning takes over the game.
Let's face it, Minnesota should have won against New Orleans. With all the fumbles, the Vikes still had a legitimate chance until Favre makes a royal screw up. Manning doesn't make those mistakes, and Addai/Brown don't put the ball on the ground like Peterson does.
I would love to see the Saints win. But it's their first dance against a team that still have many players who tasted that victory before. I gotta go with the Colts.

I agree. They still got to their 1st ever SuperBowl, and they can be better next year potentially, and will be great as long as Brees is the QB for the next few years.

I am also wanting the Saints to win but I don't hate the Colts so it doesn't really matter who wins to me I just want to watch a good game.
Prediction
Colts - 38
Saints - 27

I have to say, I could care less about the superbowl this year. I have no love for the Saints. None. I'm not sure about a prediction, but I hope Indy blows this one up 45-3...
...I'm just sayin'...

PFT wrote: Early bettors are all over the Colts Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 28, 2010 2:03 PM ET On paper, the Colts and Saints have similar resumes.
The teams were the last two undefeated teams, they both advanced to the Super Bowl as No. 1 seeds, and they each won an amazing number of games in the final five minutes.
Early Super Bowl bettors don't see them being very equal. The point spread for the big game opened between 3 and 4 (usually three 1/2), but has risen to 5 1/2 or 6. That big a move is rare and indicates heavy action on the favorites.
"We've seen nothing but Colt money at this point," Jay Rood, director of the MGM Mirage's Sports Book in Las Vegas said in an interview with Bloomberg.
The public generally loves favorites and overrating the previous week's games, so the trend isn't shocking. Still, it's a big number considering the Saints' body of work. We'd think that a lot of people would take the points as the game gets closer. For entertainment purposes.
"I'm going to hold pat at 4 1/2, thinking the Saint money will come," Rood said. "Giving a team with that kind of offensive firepower even 4 1/2 is pretty generous. When you talk about six points, that's a lot."
I'm really not surprised by this. If people are betting based upon what they saw last weekend, nearly everyone would pick the Colts.

I don't even care. I'm just glad Favre isn't playing in it! I can actually watch a Super Bowl this year without worrying about who will win because I'll be happy with either team.
