 Nathan Vasher released by Bears
PFT wrote: Bears bounce Nathan Vasher Posted by Mike Florio on March 17, 2010 3:15 PM ET The Chicago Bears, less than two weeks after bringing in plenty of new talent, have gotten rid of a guy who used to be one of the team's key players on defense.
Gone is veteran cornerback Nathan Vasher, a six-year veteran who appeared in one Pro Bowl.
Injuries limited Vasher in 2007 and 2008, and he started only two games in 2009 despite appearing in 15.
He was under contract through 2012, at base salaries of $2.95 million this year, $3.45 million in 2011, and $3.7 million in the final year of the deal.
Should the Lions make a run at him?

I would say so. He's only got 6 years in. Even with the injuries I think he still has alot to offer.
I'm sure he would like a shot at the Bears twice a year. He used to piss me off more than any Bears player.

Why not? He's a lot better than the alternatives...and the alternatives are usually hurt, so it wouldn't be much different.
I'm sure he'd come pretty cheap.
Plus, Zach Bowman played pretty well in place of Vasher last season.

I say take a look. As long as we still draft a young talented corner, I wouldn't mind bringing him in.

Yes, definitely. We can not overlook anybody with the way our secondary looks. Plus, he is still on the right side of 30.

I'd have no issue bringing in Vasher. Need at least 3 quality CBs in the NFL today, more is even better.

Also, with as much as our CBs seem to get injured.. bringing him in wouldn't be a bad idea.
