 Eagles Shakeups
So the Eagles have made a few moves in the past day or so. They traded Chris Clemmons and a 4th round pick to Seattle for Darryl Tapp.
They then signed Tapp for 3 years, which prompted them to release Darren Howard. Next they cut Kevin Curtis.

When Darren Howard-DE first hit the FA market there were alot of people in this forum, including myself, that were clamoring for us to sign him.
What about now?
Has his play declined that much or was this a finacial move?

I think its been both. He hasn't played up to his contract.
As for being interested in bringing in Howard....once again I'll say, bring them in but don't give them a red cent. Take a close look, see what's left in the tank, talk turkey. If they want guaranteed money, walk them to the door and say 'good luck'. Same thing goes for Vasher, Pac Man, Tye Hill, etc, etc.

There is talk that all Eagles QBs are up for "sale." There is rumor that Minnesota would be interested in McNabb and he could be had for a second rounder. It seems to make too much sense giving Minnesota a great QB who has at least 4 more years in him IMO.

When's the last time McNabb played a full season?

2008 was his last full season. With 14 games in 07 and 09.

Minn? They already have a QB for this year. Your not going to trade for McNabb and pay Farve 12 Million in the same year.

This was 8/19/09

The Vikings will pay Favre $12 million this year and $13 million next season, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen and ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The contract does not contain performance bonuses.
Because Favre is a vested veteran, the $12 million is guaranteed for this season if he is on the opening day roster. This also applies to the $13 million 2010 deal. This year, $6 million is guaranteed for skill and injury, meaning that if he is bad during the next few weeks, the Vikings can't get out for less than $6 million.
The 2009 salary payments are deferred: $4 million over the season, $4 million in March and $4 million in 2011.
However, he can RETIRE, which he hasn't said he's returning or retiring.

Even when he retires, he still unretires and plays. The fact that he hasnt said either yet and isnt media whoring it up to me is a glaring sign that he is playing for the vikings next season, and just doesnt want to go to camp. Not to mention he had 1 of his best statistical seasons ever.

The Eagles have made another move. Trading CB Sheldon Brown and LB Chris Gocong to the Browns for 4th and 5th round picks and LB Alex Hall.
