Buchanon lands with the Redskins

Cornerback Philip Buchanon visited the Redskins on Sunday. On Monday, he became a member of the team.

We've confirmed that the one-time first-round pick, cut by the Lions earlier this year, signed a one-year deal, with a base salary of $1.5 million and up to $750,000 in incentives.

The signing was first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Buchanon was a first-round pick in 2002, and he spent three years with the Raiders before being traded to the Texans. He thereafter was dumped by Houston and signed with the Bucs. In 2009, he signed a free-agent deal with the Lions. The University of Miami product has appeared in 105 games with 76 starts.

it's the Redskins. They have been patient , so I assume dan Snyder was just itching to throw money at someone.
