Fan-friggin-tastic. What a fool. "I didn't know it was there". That's the biggest pile of horse crap I've ever heard.

Maybe he should request a trade with the Cardinals (see the Off Topic thread).

PFT wrote: Shaun Rogers is still in jail Posted by Mike Florio on April 2, 2010 12:02 PM ET Arrested Thursday for possession of a loaded gun as he prepared to build board an airplane, Browns defensive tackle Shaun Rogers remains in jail.
According to the Associated Press, Rogers has asked either to be charged or to be released from custody.
Rogers' lawyer fears that the player will be held without charges over the Easter weekend. And, presumably, Rogers really needs his basket full of Peeps.
How stupid do you have to be to put a loaded gun in your carry on luggage? I don't think he's going to get out of this one.

what a jackass. he'll probably serve 3-6 mos or something like that. carrying a gun onto a plane is inexcusable.

There is a big difference between having a gun and discharging a gun.
Also, "I didn't know it was there" is a valid defense for crimes that are not strict liability offenses.
If this really was as innocent as leaving it there, not knowing it was there, and it happening to be in his bag I'm sure he'll get a lighter sentence/plea agreement than someone that intentionally brought a gun to a club and fired it inside the club.
