This may or may not be petty. . . but. . . I've never been a fan of the number 44. For any position. Whatev, I'll be cool if he ends up like Chris Johnson.

My high school was big on the #44 for RB's. I always wondered why you don't see that #44 in the NFL very often.

Jim Brown ,Floyd Little ,and Ernie Davis all wore the #44 @ Syracuse two of them are NFL HOF RB, Davis is in the Collegiate HOF and all carried a mystique and reputation from college thru the pros. But I think he picked it because he couldn't wear his college #4.

Funny thing is, Jonathan Hefney had that number assigned to him before the Lions drafted Jahvid Best. "Sorry Jon, the high priced rookie gets his pick....."

Usually there is an under the table deal, probably why it took an extra day for them to get Best a number. My guess is Best threw a ten spot to a guy that was going to be giving up the number anyways. Kind of surprised that their wasn't more time spent on Suh's number he must have literally not cared. I know it would be hard to get KVB to give it up, but they were pressing out number 90 jersey's before he left MSG.

I can't wait to buy Suh's jersey so I can wear to the Cowboys games in Nov.

I have to say, I'm a little disappointed with the number selections for the two new guys. 44 is more of a fullback's number, and even if he wanted to wear 4, he could have been 22 or 31, I mean, he went to Cal so you know he can add. I think Suh would have served himself well to be 99. Just being petty

I'm pretty sure that Spievey picked #42
