 By Weeks. How it should be. According to me. LOL. 18 Games. It's going to happen.
So, when we get to the 18 game schedule, I would like to see the By Weeks run like so:
Each team will get 2 By Weeks each season. But, they would all take place in 2 Two week periods.
Week 8 would be the first week of By's. But, with a twist. The NFL would flip a coin to see which conference takes the first By Week. The other Conference would be featured for that weeks games. Say the AFC has the first By week off. So, the entire NFC would be featured that week. Ever NFC Game would be televised Nationally. This would require a Thursday double header, a Sunday Quadruple Header, and a Monday Double Header.
Week 9 the NFC would be off and the AFC featured like the NFC was in week 8.
Week 19: Since the NFC played on the first By week, the AFC plays first on this round of By Weeks. Only with another twist.
This time, it's the AFC last game of the regular season. And it would be a division game with playoff berths to be won or lost.
Week 20: The NFC gets to do it's last game of the regular season just like the AFC did in week 19.
NOTE: It doesn't matter who gets the week off before the playoffs. AFC, NFC. It doesn't matter because they won't be playing each other again until the Super Bowl. And both teams get a week off before the Game.

Re: By Weeks. How it should be. According to me. LOL. or make the probowl mean something, and the week before playoffs goes to conference that wins the probowl. Just like home field advantage for World Series.

Re: By Weeks. How it should be. According to me. LOL. ^ No way. The Pro Bowl should be scrapped altogether. Just say that this select group of guys are "Pro-Bowlers" and leave it at that. The only time the Pro Bowl is fun is when you play it on Madden or back in the day on Tecmo Bowl.

Re: By Weeks. How it should be. According to me. LOL. I don't like adding games, just shortens peoples careers... The probowl is a big gamble in football IMO and no one should be silly enough to risk start players before a playoff or superbowl. I'd take keeping my players fresh and healthy over home field advantage or something. In baseball there are less injuries and the playoffs consist of multiple games. You get one shot in the NFL... you can't afford to make mistakes.
