NEW ENGLAND CAN'T POSSIBLY WIN ANOTHER SUPERBOWL, CAN THEY?
of course to even say that they wouldn't win the superbowl next year or any year is ludicrous.
if anything the patroits have shown that when you think it can't be done they rise to the forefront and prove all doubters wrong.
this off-season has been even more devestating for the patroits then ever.
losses:
joe andruzzi - g
adrain klemm - g/t
troy brown - wr/kr/db
ty law - cb
david patten - wr
roman phifer - lb
additions:
david terrell - wr
monty beisel - lb
duane starks - cb
knowing n.e. terrell will look like t.o. and starks will cover like law.
the o'line has to be a concern.
the biggest loss is teddy bruschi. he probably won't play this year and that will be a huge loss.
n.e will be in the playoffs and probably surprise no one.
what's your opinion?

There is no way that hell is freezing over this year The turdnals will be good, maybe even make the playoffs, but they would have to get through us first and I believe that we have handled them the last couple years.

Did they ever get a running back?

Not unless they drafted one, and I can't seem to remember that right now.

The Cards drafted JJ Arrington in the second round. Dennis Green was in love with him and probably took him a round or two earlier than he needed to. He will most likely be their running back.

NE got chad brown as well to help fill bruschi's shoes. They got Tim Dwight to return kicks and Chad Scott to help in the Defensive backfield. And I think that NE's line success is more about the system than actual talent so I wouldn't count on them being bad. Sounds ridiculous but I think that they might actually be better this year.

i would have to agree it does sound ridiculous.
with all the loses, and also losing bruschi it will not make them a better team even with by the addition of chad(i'm over the hill)brown.
they will find a way to win though.

Re: NEW ENGLAND CAN'T POSSIBLY WIN ANOTHER SUPERBOWL, CAN TH
The Patriots will be fine... they offset all their losses, and have found undrafted players to fill in whenever the past few years.
CB: Lost Law, replaced w/Starks
OG: Lost Andruzzi, replaced w/Mankins
WR: Lost Patten, replaced w/Terrell
I remember seeing Brady on TV, and he was confident that Teddy was okay, and would play this year...
Cardinals went out and made a fix
Now off to the Super Bowl in '06

Teddy Bruschi was the most important player on the Pats defense.
Next Sey
Next Law
Next Harrison
Next Mcginnest.
Without Law, and Bruschi, they lose alot. I like starks, but he has really fell far since leaving Baltimore.
In 2002 they had alot of trouble stopping the run and missed the playoffs. I imagine that is likely again in 2005.
Also, the Patroits are an OLD team. Maybe even the oldest in the NFL as far as contributors go. You have to imagine a bunch of those players are taking a step slower now.
Add to that the coaching changes, Mainly Charlie.
I think the Pats are in for a hell of alot of trouble.
They may only go 9-7 10-6 and lose early.
With a healthy Pennington the Jets appear to be close to talent
And Buffalo has the better defense.
Make no mistake, it all runs through Teddy, that guy has one more games singlehanded than Tom Brady.

I don't think the loss of Law is that significant. They won the Super Bowl without him. They will do fine. They might not make a run at a perfect season like they did last year, but believe me, Belicick(sp) and Brady are tough to beat. They will find a way to win. They are my favorite to win again. But it is too early to tell for anybody.
