 Re: Merriman released
Washed up, dood has 12 tackles over the last 3 years - thats "Lights Out" production... Now lets go back to 2008 when he had a grand total of 1 tackle.
No thanks, it has been 5 years since he has done anything.

 Re: Merriman released
I still would have rather taken him than Mike Williams.

 Re: Merriman released
I'd take the guy taken between the two of them. Then again, if we go by my draft the next best available QB strategy I suggested back then we would have taken Aaron Rodgers.

Merriman was a quality starter for San Diego for a number of years...much more than what we got out of BMW. We had no real need for a receiver, but we did need pass rushers. DeMarcus Ware would have been the best pick, but I was leery of him because of his being a small school (Troy) product. I'm no fan of Merriman using steroids, or his off-field antics. But he was a far more productive player than BMW could have ever hoped to be.

 Re: Merriman released
But dont forget the extra stuff. I personally belive he was a menace in their locker room. you cant be that big of an A$$hat and not be a disrution/ Distraction. That D when downhill faster than it should have only losing one guy.
This is just gut feeling and personal opinion but i belive him getting busted was more detrimentasl to tha D because of him personally being a jerk. that d underperformed and should NOT have stunk that bad without him...

Wouldn't the fact that the defense stunk without him be testimony to how well he played and how good of a team mate he was? I can't understand that you would feel their defense doing poorly without him is the result of his being a cancer in the locker room...

He didnt play well....drugs did. (IMO) and after he got off of em he was still on the D...but they stunk something awful. to me this is a sign of a cancer spreading through the locker room. his personal life only reafrims my opinion. he comes off to me as the kind a douche that when things dont go right he will see to it they dont go right for those around him....thats just what i beleive i see when i see him in action. at least Fat Mike just sat sadly by himelf and didnt tank anyone else around him....He let Millen do that lol
