It’s now official.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports has reported that the Texans have fired coach Gary Kubiak, who is expected at a press conference soon.

Kubiak has already told his assistants he has been fired.

The 52-year-old Kubiak built the Texans gradually into a contender, and won 22 games the previous two seasons.

But things bottomed out this year, and last night’s 11th-straight loss dropped him to 61-64 all-time as a head coach.

Rumor has it they are hunting down Lovie, and also want to get their hands on Cutler.

The GM fails to get a legitimately good QB for Kubiak. Sorry, Schaub is a scrub game manager. He has never been more than barely average. So, the GM fires Kubiak. Kubiak just recovered from a stroke he had during a game. And the GM fires him. Sorry, that is just cold. I hope the GM gets canned as well.

The GM and owners wanted to see what they had in Keenum and Kubiak kept benching him late in games and going back to Shaub. That's what did him in, not having a poor QB.

Keenum has enough tape to show he's not a legitimate franchise QB. Neither is Schaub, although some years ago when I was saying that Andre Johnson didn't really have that good of a QB throwing to him, there were some on this board who wailed away because Schaub was voted into the Pro Bowl. Pro Bowls don't mean you are good, they mean you won a popularity contest. But I don't doubt that you are right nj.

Fact is, that whole front office in Houston needs an overhaul.
