Word is their OC was getting calls for interviews and to guarantee his continued impact on Winston, they're giving him the job. After doing a Rooney Rule interview to satisfy the rule, which makes it a sham. And they called to arrange a meeting, but Lovie figured it out, so it looks like a firing by phone, which isn't going over well. Such a mess.

So, Kelly's the new 49ers HC, Hue goes to Cleveland, Titans get an ex-Pat, ex-Buc as their GM, and Coughlin is not going to Philly. What that means for us is that we'll have competition for McDaniels/Patricia's services, and there might still be a sliver of hope for Coughlin coming to us.

I wonder how the 9ers will f*ck up next year.

Only vacancy left is Titans. Will be some good people out there if we want to make a move.

Texans? You mean Titans? But yeah, there are some good people left, but I have a feeling Quinn is waiting for NE's season to be over before he decides anything.

I gotta say, I am really surprised that Jim Schwartz didn't get any job opportunities. I still think he will be a very good HC at some point. And I am sure he learned several lessons in Detroit.

Not surprised at all. After that embarrassing shoulder carrying event when his new team beat the lions showed that he has learned no lesson in humility and that his emotions will always be at the forefront, no team will accept a temper tantrum fisticuffs dueling accepting Head Coach.

I agree thats the big problem with Schwartz. He s smart but when the heat is on his emotions take over and he cant help but wear them on his sleaves or throw them in people s faces.

I think he'll be a head coach again somewhere but it may take another couple years. he's being interviewed for the Jags DC position, so he's still in the mix at least at the coordinator level.

I hope he gets that job. He might be a bit douchy and emotional, but he's pretty knowledgeable when it comes to defense. And he did improve the Lions quite a bit from that 0-16 season to making the playoffs in 2011. Also, remember how Bills had the no.2 ranked defense under him, before that fat blowhard Rex took them over and screwed it up.

He's gonna be DC for the Eagles.

And the Eagle fans are ecstatic, as they should be. They're looking like the leader of that already weak division. In other news the father-son Washburn combo are signed by Miami, looks like Suh wants his old coach back.

That's because Suh isn't a team player and can't play in a scheme. He has to have the ability to do whatever he wants. He's a self-absorbed butt snake

I don't know what Eagle's fans are excited about... Their D will get better, but they went back to Reid's style of poor game management. Did you see Pederson's handling of the clock at the end of that playoff game? Kelly traded their best players, so they're gonna be rebuilding a while. Dallas with a healthy Romo will dominate that division. And Washington is the 2nd best team. Giants have the cap room to actually improve if Reese can actually get decent players to come in.

Schwartz took over the only team in NFL history to lose 16 games the previous season. He won 2 games his first year, then 6, and in his 3rd year made the playoffs - in Detroit - once Stafford finally got healthy. He is a defensive oriented head coach, which I typically prefer, with some scouting in his background. He has 5 years HC experience in the NFL.

Given a good showing by a defense for a few years with a few more years to mature he should get, and deserves, another shot.

I don't think Eagles fans are all that excited. In fact there was a poll done by a local sports talk radio show and most said they thought Chip Kelly would be more successful that Pederson. I live in Philly, about a mile from where the Eagles practice (some of the players are my neighbors), and I can say from talking to my neighbors and listening to sport radio here that people seem to have a lot of skepticism about Pederson. I think they may be excited about Schwartz, which I think it warranted since he's had success as a DC pretty much everywhere he's been. But overall, I think most Eagles fans view the Pederson hire as a botched coaching search. Time will tell, but in general Eagles fans are always pretty salty.
