The Sands Hotel and Casino is going to build a $1Billion stadium on the campus of UNLV.
Raiders owner, Mark Davis, has been in meetings today with officials from Sands Hotel and Casino.

While gambling isn't frowned upon by society, the old rules apply, so I very much doubt the league will let a team move there. Remember, 24 owners have to approve a move. If anything, this is a good move to leverage for more money to get something built in Oakland, which Oakland hasn't exactly been very proactive to do. If anything, I think the deal struck with Rams and Chargers today makes it likely Chargers get something done in San Diego and stay or the Raiders will move there in 2017 and San Diego will build a new stadium for them.

Roger Goodell has pretty much given his blessing. He said that if a team wants to move to Las Vegas and gets the appropriate number of votes from the other owners, that he would not oppose the move.

This is a good thing for the league , the raiders and the fans. Honestly no City really needs 2 NFL Teams, so Im glad everyones spreading out. Now on to Jersey/A & Jersey/B.

They might both play in Jersey, but NY gets all the benefits. Jersey paid the cost of the Super Bowl, yet all the events were held in NYC, so that's where the majority of the revenue went. One of them should officially be a NJ team and ceremonies, etc.. be in NJ cities.

So retarded. Why does the NFL have to change so much from year to year? This isn't fun anymore for me because the league and its owners could not possibly care less about the fans it seems.

The Chargers are going to be in trouble. There was a reason no team was in LA for a long time, there is a lot to do there and the fans are well... Many LA fans will support their former Raiders and make the drive to Vegas. Then you have the Rams back. Now the Chargers - something has gotta give.

The Chargers actually have a big opportunity. LA fans will flock to a winner and with both teams being garbage it's going to be a race to a winning season. The Chargers also will have all the fans from San Diego follow them, it's even easier to go from SD/So Cal to LA than getting to LV. It's been my experience that the Chargers even have a nice boost from the Mexican population out there because of how close they were to the border, so even though they lose the advantage they may keep some of the fans.

Could be right but the Raiders in Vegas, why not make a night out of it? LA folks do it all the time.

As for SD, I think there fans are going to feel abandoned like the Browns fans did in Cleveland. I'm not sure how well they transfer to the new team, guess we will find out. It won't matter next year as I'm sure they will sell out all their games since they will be playing in a soccer stadium (capacity 27K) - you'd think the NFL wouldn't allow that.

Well San Diego, at least you still have the last place Padres left...

The Oakland fans aren't going to feel any less abandoned. They may feel even more abandoned since Oakland had a stadium deal on the table, but the Raiders turned it down because they didn't want to work with the As anymore.

The NFL has multiple perception problems, but one is that they'll sacrifice pretty much anything to make a buck. Having three teams move in such a short span does nothing to affirm the league's integrity or loyalty to its fans.

Maybe the only positive thing is that LA finally having teams possibly takes away one gangster negotiating tactic for a few years. Then again knowing the owners, they'll probably start threatening to move their team to St. Louis/San Diego/Oakland soon. dontknow.gif
