Did he expect that no one would notice if he retired on the eve of training camp? He didn't realize the negative impact his actions would have on the team?

Sorry, but IMHO it's just crocodile tears.

Doesn't he still have to serve a 6 game suspension this year? When does that happen?

I believe it's only 4 games, he will then come in and get limited action from the bench, that's what they said on SC this morning.

The suspension is for 4 games and it is for the first four games of the season.

I could've swore when they were first talking about the possibility of him coming back (back when he retired) that there was a 1 year suspension that he would have to face..did anyone else hear that? what happened to that suspension?

Ricky negotiated with the league to have the one year suspension reduced to four games based on his being out of the league last year.

Now that you say that ...

I thought I'd heard that too.

You're not alone on this one.

You have to wonder "what if" in this scenario. What if the Fins knew Williams would be back before the draft. Would they have taken a RB still? Probably not... What if they had decided to add a WR instead? Would BMW still have been available at #10?

He probably wouldn't have been available, but either Rolle or Carlos Rogers would have been because Arizona would have scooped one of the runningbacks that was left after Ronnie Brown dropped.

I'm not so sure about that. It was said prior to the draft that Dennis Green was very enamored with JJ Arrington and knew he could get him in round two. In all likelihood Brown would have gone to Chicago, Carnell would have gone to Tampa and Benson would have fallen some spots. Miami probably would have taken Braylon, with Cleveland likely taking Antrel Rolle . I think Arizona would have gone with Carlos Rogers and then Washington would have ended up taking either Mike Williams or Shawne Merriman.
