 Dwight Smith snatched up by the Saints
Jay Glazer, of FOX Sports, reports the New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with free agent S Dwight Smith (Buccaneers) on a five-year deal believed to be worth $15 million, including a signing bonus in the $3.5 million range.

good pickup convo...that should set the tone for the range for saftey. Kenoy will probably command a bit more I am guessing.

This is good for us since the Saints were interested in Kennedy as well, even if he will command a bit more. The Falcons and Chiefs are still interested in KK last I knew.

I think the cheifs are about strapped for cap. Hopefully they want be able to pay out what he wants. The Falcons have some room to deal though

Word on the street is the Lions are offering Kennedy a 4-year deal worth $16M. But you didn't hear that from me.

Yeah, I've heard that rumor floating around...but no links to support it. I think $4M/yr is too much to pay...It's a good deal if it's $3M/yr with a $4M signing bonus though IMO...especially considering the market right now.

Without the contract specifics, I'll hold my comments at this point. If it is a backloaded salary, then I'm OK with it. I'd really like to know the signing bonus.
I'm also hearing that Kennedy has left town, that is a concern. Apparently the Lions are trying to get him to come back to visit. If this is true, so long Kenoy.
