 Keeper League
I took over as league commish for a keeper league last season and right before the season started several managers quit on me. I am trying to ressurect the league this season and need 5-7 more players. The guys who stuck around are competitive and active managers and the league was fun during the 06 season.
Here are the settings:
Passing Yards (50 yards per point)
Passing Touchdowns (6)
Interceptions (-2)
Sacks (-1)
Rushing Yards (20 yards per point)
Rushing Touchdowns (6)
Reception Yards (20 yards per point)
Reception Touchdowns (6)
Return Yards (33.33 yards per point)
Return Touchdowns (6)
2-Point Conversions (2)
Fumbles (-1)
Fumbles Lost (-1)
Offensive Fumble Return TD (6)
Field Goals 0-19 Yards (3)
Field Goals 20-29 Yards (3)
Field Goals 30-39 Yards (3)
Field Goals 40-49 Yards (3)
Field Goals 50+ Yards (3)
Point After Attempt Made (1)
Tackle Solo (1)
Tackle Assist (.5)
Sack (2)
Interception (3)
Fumble Force (2)
Fumble Recovery (2)
Touchdown (6)
Safety (2)
Pass Defended (.5)
Block Kick (2)
We start 1Qb, 2Rb, 2WR, 1 TE, 1WR/RB, 1K, 4IDPs and have a 6 man bench.
Since I am trying to bring this league back from the dead I have proposed the following changes. I am not opposed to keeping things as is but wanted to make it more fun.
1)Annual 2 round Rookies Only draft prior to the regular re-draft.
2)Increase bench to 8 players
3)Increase keepers to 4-including 1 mandatory IDP and 1 player who
was a rookie the previous season and 2 that can be any player from
your roster.
This means every season following 2008 we will have 2 new rookies and
4 keepers to start our roster with. Obviously since we are starting
fresh this year we will not have keepers but will only start with the
2 new rookies.
Anyways if this sounds like fun to any serious, competitive fantasy owners please let me know and I can answer any questions you have.

Its a league on Yahoo and there is a Yahoo group site for all the rules and stuff. No money just for fun.

I'm currently in three leagues, but I'm willing to do one more. I like the idea of keeping four players, but I'm not fond of keeping a rookie from the previous season. Can the IDP and the 2nd year player be the same guy? I'd go that route if I could. Gimme a link to the site and I'll check it out.

Up til this season the league had 3 keepers with 1 being an IDP. Since the rookie draft will be new to this league I want to add on the 4th keeper as a 2nd year player so that people will think more about the players they take in the rookie only draft. Since it will only be 2 rounds everyone should land someone that they want to keep around for next season.

To my knowledge Yahoo doesn't have keeper leagues. What we would do is do the Rookie Draft on the group site then select them with the first two picks in the live draft on Yahoo. After this season, we would select our keepers on the group site and in the regular re-draft we would do the same thing for rookies and keepers so that the first 6 picks would be those players. In this type of scenario, it is important to at least pre-rank your keepers in the live draft so that if you can't attend the whole draft doesn't get messed up.

Will you post all the rookies that were drafted in this thread? I can seem to find the link to the off-site web page.
