Those are two even matchups, both on the road. While I potentially see Farve throwing more INTs than Pennington, in a fairly even matchup I tend to go with my #1, in this case I'm assuming the Pats are your top rated D. Over the course of a season you will come out ahead rather than second guessing every week. This is one reason I don't carry two defenses or two kickers - except on bye weeks.
