Anibel Sanchez is looking like the Sanchez of 4 years ago. But, because Mathew Boyd is pitching even better than Sanchez, Anibel is likely going to be a long reliever/spot starter.

The Tigers are likely going to swallow hard and release Mike Putrid and Mark Lowe.

And Mark Lowe is gone. Tigers placed him on waivers last night.

Mike Putrid was cut last night. So, he won't be putting us in anymore 8-0 deficits before our hitters even get to step to the plate. $8Million dollars well swallowed. We never should have signed him in the first place.

Mariners signed Lowe. Lol. Mahtook/Collins is going to be brutal in RF for the time being. Pretty pissed mahtook made it over pressley. Pressley was raking and deserved it. Mahtook has options and should be in Toledo.

Pressley was sent down so that his arbitration clock would not start this year. If he makes no major league appearances before sometime in May, the Tigers will be able to control him for 1 additional year.

And that's the only reason he was sent down.

pressley has 5-6 years of mlb experience already and 31 yrs old. i doubt they are viewing him as a prospect and worried about his arbitration clock

And Zimmerman has looked putrid outside of 1 start. Would rather see Anibal start and Zimmerman work out of the pen for a bit.

For some reason, I was thinking he was a young prospect and assumed the arbitration clock was why he got sent down.

At least nobody bit on Moya who cleared waivers and is back in AAA. Also, Stumpf was sent back to KC, but elected to be a FA and signed a big league deal with the Tigers. He's on the 40 man and in AAA.

Naldo, Jays just released Melvin Upton. Minor league deal wouldn't be terrible. Not with the turds we have in AAA. I mean, the big league roster looks terrible for outfielders. At least Upton has been there and done that. Maybe his brother could rub off on him, in a good way...not the April/May last year version.

I wish someone would have bit on Moya. He is an error waiting to happen. He will never be good at any position except DH. And even then he will strike out entirely too much.

Well, game 1 in the books. Put the hurt on Quintana, that's reassuring.

JV looked to be in mid season form. The movement he had on that 4 seamer was unreal - 2 seamer movement.
Greene had no control, which is concerning, but brought the heat.
Rondon looked sharp - throwing the cheese and the slider.
Kins still rakes, but TOOTBLANs on the bases.
Jones flashed some power on a nice slider by Quintana.
Nick continues his dominance over baseballs.
Mahtook hit multiple balls hard and was never rewarded.
Upton bruised his knee and made an awful error on a hammered ball by Abreu. He did make a nice running catch on the next liner by Frazier.

162-0 baby!

i think if they get upton after he clears waivers and sign him at the minimum then they can easily make room for him on the MLB roster. Upton is still a good defender and was hitting well 1st half last season
