Tigers acquire Bazardo from Seattle for Frazier
February 7, 2007
DETROIT (AP) -- The Tigers traded outfielder Jeff Frazier to the Seattle Mariners for right-hander Yorman Bazardo on Wednesday.
Bazardo was 6-5 with a 3.64 ERA in 25 starts last year at Double-A San Antonio, finishing with the fourth-best ERA in the Texas League, and he went 2-0 with a 1.78 ERA and one save in 21 games in the Venezuelan Winter League. He struck out six in five scoreless innings over two games for Venezuela in the Caribbean World Series.
Frazier hit .228 with 13 homers and 73 RBIs in 135 games at Class A Lakeland last season.
Detroit also designated right-hander Preston Larrison for assignment. He split time last year between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo.
BIG PUSH. Neither player will make it to the bigs. If they do, they won't stay long.
