Fan-tastic: Detroit is 'tops' for sports
I wasn't sure where to put this, so it goes here (for now anyway):

DETROIT -- With three of its four major franchises advancing deep into the postseason, Detroit has been named North America's top sports city by The Sporting News.
The magazine named the Motor City No. 1 in its 2007 annual ranking, published in editions that hit newsstands Wednesday.
A winning season, atmosphere and playoff spots are among the criteria.
Top 10 1. Detroit 2. New York 3. Dallas-Fort Worth 4. Chicago 5. L.Angeles 6. Boston 7. Denver 8. Phoenix 9. Philadelphia 10. Minneapolis-St. Paul
Now, if we can only add the Lions to the list of playoff teams.......

Good stuff... Hopefully sooner or later players will start realizing this... It's frustrating to hear players like Gagne say that they don't want to come to Det., even when that team is a playoff contender.

We'd better enjoy it while we have it. We're going to have to sweep basketball, hockey and 2008 baseball to keep Boston off of the top of that list next year. They've got the World Series, most likely the Super Bowl, MLS Soccer and a basketball team that should go deep and lose to us in the Conference Finals.
Anybody but Boston...or NY!!
