We have been notified that at least three Ohio State football players have possibly been suspended for violation of team rules. It has been rumored that the athletes tested positive in recent drug tests administered by coaching staff. It is unfortunate as each player has some sort of impact on the team.
Eugene Clifford - This is ‘Gene’s second offense in 6 months. The coaching staff will not take it lightly and rumor is he will be suspended for the entire season.
Donald Washington - Before the national championship game, D-Wash was rumored to be suspended, but those rumors proved false. This time, he is not as fortunate. Rumblings state that he will be suspended for the first two games (Youngstown State, Ohio).
Jamario O’Neal - Also rumored to be suspended for the first two games
These suspensions will give opportunities for young guys to step up and prove themselves early in the season. Look, especially to Chimdi Chekwa to fill in for Donald Washington and Jamario O’Neal.
Nothing official has been released by the University but our sources close to the team have confirmed these rumors.
Update: Mo Wells is not involved and there is speculation and fluctuation on the length of the suspensions of the three. Nothing is official yet and hopefully we will learn more from Coach Tressel after the jersey scrimmage tomorrow.
