 Wannstedt "resigns" in Miami
"Resigns" - yeah right. Huizenga forced Wannstedt out...
(AP) Miami Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt looks on during the fourth quarter as the New York Jets beat...
Midway through a dismal season that has left Miami with the NFL's worst record, Wannstedt planned to resign Tuesday, said a club source on condition of anonymity. Defensive coordinator Jim Bates was to be named interim coach at a news conference, the source said Tuesday.
Wannstedt met Monday night at the team's complex with owner Wayne Huizenga, who confirmed an announcement was planned Tuesday.
"Dave called me and we got together, but I'm not going to comment at this point," Huizenga said.
Wannstedt was at his office early Tuesday morning, his wife said, but he couldn't be reached for comment.

I heard this weekend on ESPN radio that Tommy Tuberville wanted the Miami job.
