OLB Thaddeus Gibson, Ohio State, though he doesn't show up on scout's last one he shows up in the first list at #55. I really think that if we are looking to go with a 3-4 that Gibson would be an excellent add at the top of the third. He played DE for OSU and did a great job, but is more suited for OLB in a 3-4 than DE in the NFL which is why he will show up as OLB on all draft boards. I really think he could come in and replace Peterson (not with the same output right away).

The combine will either push him into the second, keep in around the third, or kill him to the later rounds so we will have to see where he falls. But from his game film anyone could see he's worth a shot in the mid to late second.

Unfortunately the Lions most likely won't switch to a 3-4 and they don't have a mid to late second rounder. I agree Gibson could be a good rush linebacker but I don't think that the Lions would take a situational guy with their second pick or even their third, but then again Derrick Williams was a third rounder and he was used situationally, and sucked.

It's also important to remember that these Top 100 lists will change significantly after the Senior Bowl, Combine, and Individual Workouts. Quite preliminary, but I do think that the second list on this thread is a little more true to form then the first. Dwyer the 8th best prospect? I think the biggest discrepancy is about Bruce Campbell. 50 in the first and 27 in the second. Interesting.

I agree that there will be many changes between now and D-day, always is. On that day there will be some picks that will leave everyone scratching there head. Asking who did they just take? That's what I said last year when the Lions took Levy.

Or whenever the Raiders make a pick. Michael Mitchell, who was listed as something like the #45 safety.

Is it just me or is Joe Haden being overrated? I just don't recall being all that impressed when I watched the Gators play this year. I wouldn't put him close to top five overall talent but both these boards are...

A lot of people really like this kid because he's quick and has good ball skills. He's also a good sized corner at 5'11" 190+. Undoubtedly the best corner in the draft, but top 5 talent is questionable, but it's all about where you value the CB position over others. I'd put the importance of a good CB in the top 5 of positional value, as evidenced by the terrible play of the Lions corners the last few years.

If the draft turned out that way, I would be in heaven!

#2 Suh/Mcoy DT
#33 Jason Pierre-Paul DE
#66 Mike Johnson OG
#98 Javier Arenas CB

Couldn't work out much better than that. :D

Of the players in this top 100 that I was the most impressed by this past season were:

Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska - The wrecking ball and everyone's favorite.

Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma - If the Lions get him at 2, DT will be set for awhile.

C.J. Spiller RB Clemson - The kid ran crazy against GT, and again in there bowl game. He was playing hurt and still tore them up. That takes heart!

Rolando McClain ILB Alabama - Savy MLB

Sergio Kindle OLB Texas - Wonder if he can play SSLB in a 4-3?

Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa - Felt that he stonewalled Derrick Morgan.

Jared Odrick DT Penn State - I think he's the 3rd best DT

Devin McCourty CB Rutgers - Good cover skills, not afraid of contact, and excels on special teams.

Jason Pierre-Paul DE South Florida - Has natural pass rush skill, needs pro coaching.

Navorro Bowman OLB Penn State - Was the most dominant player on Penn St defense in there bowl game.

Dexter McCluster RB Mississippi - In there bowl game he was phenomenal. That was the first time I saw him play. I know there will be questions about his size, but he's tough and didn't avoid contact.

Daryl Washington ILB TCU - This guy is a tackling machine.

These are some of the players that stuck out in the games I saw. There are others that are not listed in this current top 100. There is one player that I have not seen yet, that I am looking forward to watching in the Texas vs. The Nation game. Austen Lane DE Murray State 6-6 258, 4.65 forty time.
