OK, dream draft:

1 - Swap first with Washington for Haynesworth - OL Okung
2 - RB Javon Best
3 - CB Brandon Ghee (Falls to round 3... only because I want him to and this is a dream draft)
4 - LB A.J. Edds
4 - Trade two 7th s for a 4th - WR Jordan Shipley
7 - LB Tim Knicky
7 - CB Bryan McCann (need a project guy)

Other plausible round 1 flavors:

Trade 1 with Seattle for both first and a 5th. Seattle takes Bradford or Clausen.

1 - OT Trent Williams
1 - CB Joe Haden
5 - DT Torrell Troup

Trade 1 with Browns for 1 and 2 this year and next years 1st:

1 - OT Trent Williams
2 - CB Patrick Robinson

Ive got to believe that the Lions are going to trade down at some point in the draft. With their current selections they have they won't have a whole lot of ammunition to trade this years picks to move up. The 7th rounders are the type that you hope to develop, but can't really count on (sorry fellas, i don't feel comfortable relying on Zach Follett just yet). If they were to move their 3 7ths the highest they could move up, according to the draft chart is pick 186, in the 6th round. I have to think they'll move down in either round 2 or 3 depending on who is available to them at that point. I don't know if Mayhew wants to leverage his picks for next year in order to move up. I would like a 5th rounder, but I don't know how that would work.

As for dream draft scenario's as they stand now:

1- Suh
2- Kareem Jackson
3- Donald Butler
4- Ben Tate
7a- Joique Bell
7b- George Selvie
7c- Nick Polk S, Indiana
7d- Project OL

Trade down with Cleveland for their 1st, two 3rds, and a 5th
Trade Cliff Avril to Miami for Merling and a 4th
Trade Cleveland's 5th and two of our 7ths for a 4th

1-OT Trent Williams-He can start at one tackle spot and Backus can start at the other.
2-CB Devin McCourty-We need a #1 and he has the potential
3-RB Ben Tate-He has possibly the best combo of size and power.
3-DT Linval Joseph-He is huge and athletic. He can rotate with Hill and Williams
3-CB AOA-He is a big CB who is very athletic. He will start out as a KR while we groom him.
4-S Major Wright-Physical S
4-LB AJ Edds-Fights it out with Follet, Dizon, and Johnson for starting spot
4-OG Mike Johnson-Great depth
7-FB-Jon Conner-Battles with Felton
7-WR-Freddy Barnes-Possibly snags a roster spot.

I heard a rumor that SF is considering using #13 and #17 to move up to take Clausen. I have no idea if that is true or whether they would move all the way up to #2 though. In that scenario, I could see the Lions taking DE Derrick Morgan and CB Kyle Wilson with those picks. Then again, C.J. Spiller, Ryan Matthews, and Earl Thomas could all be in the mix as well. Also, I'm not sure if Mayhew would be willing to move back that far.

I think they'd have to give up something else like a 3rd or second I think. There will be some great players available at 13 and 17 and I wouldn't mind it at all. I think two first and their second are probably the going rate to move up that far.

Just being able to have a shot at Wilson or McCourty at 17 makes it worth that trade. #13 is gravy and could be used for OT. The kid from Rutgers is expected to go in that area.

At #34, if we don't trade down, we might be able to get Price or another DT.

OK here's my dream draft scenario for the Lions. It's not going to happen, but this is just a dream.

1. Lions draft Suh or McCoy. (Not being a talent scout, I have no way to differentiate between them and to predict which one will become a Hall of Famer or at least a perennial Pro Bowler.)

2. A CB with first round talent who can cover fast receivers like glue slips to the Lions.

3. The Ravens are willing to accept a 3rd round pick for OT Gaither.

4. The Raiders are willing to accept a 4th round pick for RB McFadden. Since he has a large contract, they can't move him for a third round pick and decide they're willing to settle for the Lions' 4th.

5. The Lions trade their three tradeable seventh round picks for...Albert Haynesworth while agreeing not to pay the Redskins any of that $21 million at all. In the meantime, Redskins fans march to Snyder's office with lighted torches and pitchforks.

It's all just a dream.

Well, my "dream" draft scenario would be quite unrealistic so I'll tone it down to at least on the outside edge of reasonable.

Suh drafted #1 overall by Rams (even my dream scenarios wouldn't include voluntarily passing up Suh)
Cleveland moves up to get Bradford, trading us #'s 7, 38, 71 and 134 for #'s 2 and #220
Berry falls to #7 and the Eagles want to trade up, giving us #'s 24, 37 and 70

#24- McCourty (CB)
#34- Nate Allen (S)
#37- Tyson Alualu (DT)
#38- traded to Baltimore for Gaither (LT)
#66- Arizona trades #88 and #89 for #'s 66 and 213
#70- AJ Edds (OLB)
#71- Akwasi Owusu-Ansah (CB)
#88- Austen Lane (DE)
#89- Joique Bell (RB)
#100- JD Walton (C)
#134- John Connor (FB)
#214- Cody Grimm (SS)
#255- David Gettis (WR)

lol

Well my true dream scenario included something along the lines of Mayhew being able to trade Backus, Cherilus, Raiola, B. Johnson, Scheffler and Morris for picks during the draft, fleecing the team they were trading with... but only a little, keeping #2 and drafting Suh, but still being able to move up and draft Pouncey, having McCourty, Nate Allen, Saffold, and either Alualu or Lamarr Houston all fall to us through the mid 1st to mid 2nd rounds, as well as still being able to give a pick #42 or less to Baltimore for Gaither.

Hey, 'serious' mocks are for mock draft threads.... in "dream scenario" threads go big or go home I say!

In reality, my dream draft scenario is that they don't f-up the picks.
