 Bob Probert Dead at 45
One of the most interesting players to every play for the Red Wings. The man was simply crazy, he will be missed. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=5356462

Re: Bob Probert Dead at 45
Just read about this at Pro SportsDaily.com. A 45 year old man in good health, collapses and dies on a boating trip. Truely saddening for a man who seemed to have exercised his deamons. RIP Bob, you will be missed and put on a great show when you were here in Motown. One of the toughest to ever put on the winged wheel. Deepest sympathy to family and friends. Rip buddy

Re: Bob Probert Dead at 45
In every game he played that I attended, a one minute fight would put the crowd into feverish pitch for the rest of the night. Didn't matter if we won or lost, the crowd was buzzing every time Probie hit the ice.(it always mattered if we won, but he could take the sting out of a loss). One thing I never understood, a pro hockey player had to bring cocaine across the border? It's not like we didn't have enough of that crap in the States. A mistake that took his career to the down slope, that and alcoholism. He pulled his head out and took charge of his life. Speaking from much expiereance, a heart attack can bring down the best of us at any time. Again RIP Bob.

So, you were never at the Joe and got to chant, "Probie! Probie! Probie!"? That was fun.

Probie was a blast to watch. Enough has been said about his shortfalls. What is important is what his daughters said about him and how they feel about him. He's going to be missed as a father and a husband by his family and as a friend by many. As a fan of the game and the man, I'll miss him too. RIP Bob.

I actually met him a couple a times and hung out with him at a couple of BBQ's when I was a kid. Im reluctant to admit why...he was my friends dads coke buddy....Guy was intense..and hilarious. R.I.P. Probie.
