Post Re: Forcier OUT
Sad. I thought he'd become of one better QBs UM has had in a while.

Anyway, I'm not really concerned because Robinson is the real deal. As long as he stays healthy, UM should go 8-4 this year. Not the Rose Bowl season I was predicting that this year would be at the beginning of last year (defense is too young for that), but still a good season overall.

This Saturday, my prediction is UM in a close one, just like last year. ND is at home, and slightly improved, but UM is much better this season.

Losses will come against Iowa, Penn St, Wisconsin and OSU. Unless Robinson gets hurt, then all bets are off.

It should be obvious to everyone that 1) Rich Rod's system is entirely dependent upon the play of his QB and 2) Rich Rod will absolutely not deviate from his system. These are obvious negatives, but when the QB is the right man for the job and playing well, they should be able to score on any defense they face.

Michigan is going to get exposed very quickly for the WEAK defense that they have. Once we start playing Big 10 teams, and quite possibly ND this week, we will begin to see the cracks and fisures. It scares me to death, because I live in the shadow of the URINE colored dome, and I despise THE WHINING IRISH

I guess we will see who's laughing at the season's end.

Note, my prediction is based on Robinson staying the starter. If he goes down, they could wind up with a losing record again.

I know a lot of Michigan fans/alumni hated Rich Rod and want to see him go, but really, if they have another losing season, where do you go from here? If they have to give him the boot, and start rebuilding all over again, I envision Michigan becoming the new Notre Dame.

backpedal , quick, quick.

I could easily say MSU could go undefeated this year, so long as they don't lose a game.

Roy... ANY predictions in college football are going to be the same. If a high-power program loses a key player they're screwed. Very few teams in college football can win consistently without their starting Qb. People predict that MSU will win 9 games this year IF Cousins doesn't get hurt. If Cousins gets hurt most MSU fans (Mike Valenti included) agree that MSU will be screwed.

Blueskies qualifier isn't outrageous or backpedaling at all, it's just realistic.

Come on, a starting QB wasn't announced until the day of the start of the season and all of a sudden they won't be able to win without him? I understand how important the position is but please if it was so apparent that Robinson was that much of a difference maker I don't think it would have taken so long to confirm he was the starter.

It wasn't announced, but it was known for two months who was going to start. Ever since the voluntary drills that Forcier didn't show up to, everyone talked about Robinson starting, unless Forcier did something amazing. Just because he wasn't announced the starter, it doesn't make him any less integral to the team and the performance of the offense.

If Forcier really does leave (which I'm not totally buying into just yet), we will once again be relying on a rookie that would have likely been red-shirted (and still likely will). You can't be confident in your team or win consistently under those circumstances.

Fine, then how about why add the qualifier to the prediction to begin with. If you are going to make a prediction make it, you don't need a built in excuse for when you are wrong. Injuries are part of the game, and if they happen to key players people are already going to know that it could negatively affect the outcome of your prediction.

But then again who cares, I was just trying to add a little back and forth.

So you're saying that your prediction for MSU's wins and losses wouldn't change if Cousins got hurt?
:^o

That's just ridiculous.
