Meaninless I think not, first off it was the last home game of the year it was like saying thanks for coming out Tiger fans and 2nd place means about 40,000 more for each player that is not meaningless, N>N>

so they finish second ahead of the white sox big frickin deal. If they really wanted to thank the fans they wouldnt choke every year after the all star break the team is almost as flawed as the lions.

hey chief - not to burst your bubble...but Minny does have the 2nd best record in baseball. Yeah, the Tigs were not winning the division, even if they kept on their 1st half pace.

This game has a ton of meaning to it
1) it was the last home game - a sweep of a team that was TRYING to get home field advantage.
2) It was a sweep of one of the top 5 teams in the entire MLB
3) They came out and showed passion, and got production from young guys, with some amazing pitching from JV and Ricky.
4) They screwed the Twinkies out of home field (most likely).
5) Do i really have to point more of the obvious out?
