Lets just say, for the sake of argument, that you can't get Jim Harbaugh.
Then, do you still want Rich Rod fired? I can't think of another coach out there who could come in here with better qualifications than Rich Rod had when he was hired.
If you can't get Harbaugh, would you prefer to give Rich Rod another year? Or just hire any possible coach you can find with a decent resume?

I am absolutely sure that Michigan is on Jim Harbaugh's list of colleges he can leave Stanford for. But, I'll play your what if game. Rich Rod still needs to get fired. If we can't get Harbaugh, then Miles Davis and Ron English would be good candidates as well. Even though it will never happen, I would like Gary Moehler considered as well. And if all else fails, Cam Cameron would be a good backup plan.

I'm sure there is a back channel to this process and Dave Brandon will have a pretty good idea if Jim Harbaugh would or would not come to Michigan if he pulls the trigger on RichRod.

LOLI've heard this rumor too, will see. If Brandon is going to pull the trigger, the sooner the better and he better be absolutely positive that Harbaugh will come. There is no way they let RichRod hang around and coach the bowl game and then fire him, that would be another step backwards.

Steensn, great view and looks like a lot of fun but is this a rendition of the Village People?

Any big play is always called back due to penalty for the Lions and Michigan. Also, shut up Matt Millen

Re: It's that week.... THE GAME
Refs were not out to get anyone... lame holding call ruined an amazing run. Refs were fairly bad for each team... though they didn't determine the game. Far from it...

Re: It's that week.... THE GAME
After today, I am no longer an outright supporter of RR, and wouldn't really care one way or the other if he was fired. I would also support hiring Jim Harbaugh.
But...I would be absolutely appalled if they fired Rich Rod to hire anyone besides Harbaugh or maybe Les Miles (though I don't think hes coming here for a variety of reasons).
This is going to be a tough job to fill. As much as we like to think "its the Michigan job! Its everyone's dream!"--sadly it isn't. Schiano wouldn't take it last time. Anyone without strong ties to the program is going to be criticized heavily from day 1, as Rich Rod has shown, and will be expected to win against some of the best programs in college football by their second or third year.
