ESPN reported that the owner of the Buffalo Bills bought out the remaining tickets needed to lift the blackout and donated em all to charities and the military so that his fans could watch the game.

You hear that Ford Sr.? I hope your taking notes.......

I've even wrote an email to the lions ticket agency and their promotional department to do the same dang thing.

You gotta love that. Such a shame Ford doesn't know any better. . .

Well hopefully since Lions won past 3 there will be a sell out.

It wasn't the Bills owner who did it, it was a local restaurant owner.

WCF never took the silver spoon out of his mouth. He's a greedy old man

I don't understand this mentality. WCF has never been cheap. He's spent a ton over the years. He hasn't spent wisely, but he definitely has spent. The Lions have never been a team that won't pay players or anything like that.

You have obviously forgotten the Russ Thomas years. Ford was squeezing pennies so hard, Lincoln's eyes bled.

Fisher or Joekel or Lane Johnson for #5 overall. I have settled on Johnson as my preference. The only thing Joekel and Fisher have over him is experience at LT. 2 years from now, Lane Johnson will be known as the best LT of this draft!

First, I was too young back then to pay attention to who the lions GM was. Second, it is the GM, not the owner who ok's contracts. Thomas was the cheap one, not Ford. Based on every article I found that is the consensus story. Thomas was known as a cheap b*stard.

Here what I don't get. Thomas was gone after 89 right? Since then Ford has spent TONS of money on the Lions. Was he cheap before and suddenly changed completely? I don't buy that. I'm not defending how he spent the money. He's obviously screwed that up over & over. But to say he's cheap just isn't supported by facts.

I agree. Ford has been anything but cheap. However, it doesn't change his being a senile old fool who would make millions of fans happy if he sold this team to an owner who had half a brain and knew when to fire a GM before he utterly destroyed a team. The state of the Lions roster is the direct fault of Ford not wanting to fire Millen. Millen was inept, a liar and an A-hole....but he just can't help being what he is. Ford is just a flat out dumba$$.
