 Re: 2010 Celebrity Death Pool
Well, I guess I can declare myself the "Lionbacker 2010 Celebrity Death Pool" Champion! I was hoping to do this thing every year, but since there wasn't much interest, I decided not to. But, that didn't stop me from playing again on another board. If anyone else is playing elsewhere and wants some picks to use, these are my 2011 choices:
1. Abdelbaset Mohmed Ali Al-Megrahi 2. Michael Douglas 3. Kim Jong Il 4. Aretha Franklin 5. Zsa Zsa Gabor 6. Fidel Castro 7. Roger Ebert 8. Harmon Killebrew 9. King Bhumibol Adulyadej 10. Mike Heimerdinger 11. Christopher Hitchens 12. Ronnie Biggs

 Re: 2010 Celebrity Death Pool
Even though you decided not to play this year...I did so bad in 2010 (or good if you are one of the celebs I picked), I decided to try again regardless of keeping score. So here are my would-be picks.
Dick Clark Andy Griffith Fidel Castro Fantasia Barrino Elizabeth Taylor Andy Dick Nancy Reagan Muhammed Ali Kim Jong-Il Keith Richards Alan Robert Rogowski (born September 22, 1942), better known by his ring name of Ole Anderson Roderick George Toombs (born April 17, 1954) Roddy Piper

 Re: 2010 Celebrity Death Pool
I suppose that mwill2 and anybody else could make their picks and I'll keep track of them for the rest of the year. Just have them in by January 15th and you can't pick people who have already died this year, OK?

She was 79, and had been hospitalized in recent weeks for congestive heart failure. "Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts," son Michael Wilding said. Taylor starred in 50-plus movies. She made the leap from child star to world's biggest star. She won two Oscars, for Butterfield 8 and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Other signature films included National Velvet, Father of the Bride, Giant, and Cleopatra, on the set of which she began a notorious love affair with costar Richard Burton, whom she would marry, divorce, remarry and divorce again. In all, Taylor celebrated eight marriages and endured seven divorces. "I never planned to acquire a lot of jewels or a lot of husbands," she said in a recent interview with Kim Kardashian for Harper's Bazaar. "For me, life happened, just as it does for anyone else." Of all her off-screen accomplishments, most notably she helped raised more than $200 million for AIDS research. In the family statement, Wilding praised his mother's "brave and relentless fight" for the cause. In 2009, Taylor announced, via her Twitter page—yes, she rolled with the times—that she was to undergo heart surgery to repair a valve. Her most recent hospital stint, at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai, where she died, began in February. "Everything was handed to me. Looks, fame, wealth, honors, love," she said in 1999. "But I've paid for that luck with disasters, the deaths of so many good friends, terrible illnesses, destructive addictions, broken marriages." "All things considered, I'm damned lucky to be alive." . Re: 2010 Celebrity Death Pool (2011 now added until Jan 15th
Peter Falk died last night, so I decided to check this thread for the first time in a long time. Nobody had him, but I noticed that I had Harmon Killebrew, who died on May 18th.
As a result, I'm in the lead with 26 points, while Lionfanatic has 21. The only other player this year, fetumpsh, has yet to score.

If we didn't have so many bible thumpers on this board, perhaps we could have gotten better participation in this twisted game.

Re: 2010 Celebrity Death Pool (2011 now added until Jan 15th
you dont have to be a bible thumper to have reservations about wishing people dead man...common be fair lol!
I dont play because the people I would like to predict probably wont die. after all, only the good die young. no sense in playing a game you know your going to lose.
(primary example..Dick chaney would be #1 on my list for the past 16 to 20 years...thats sombich aint never gonna die!)

Re: 2010 Celebrity Death Pool (2011 now added until Jan 15th
If this was about who I wanted to die, my list would be: 1. Barack Obama 2. George Soros 3. Eric Holder 4. Cass Sunstein 5. John Podesta 6. Van Jones 7. Richard Trumka 8. Lisa Jackson 9. David Brock 10. Hilda Solis 11. Carol Browner 12. Valarie Jarrett If you don't know who some of those people are, look them up. Each and every one of them have ties to socialist/communist organizations. Unfortunately, I could add another 5000 names to this list without any problem. Being as evil as I am, I will celebrate once death occurs to each and every one of those scumbags.
