Man im starting to get sick of Sports Science. I thought it was cool at first, but man it just seems like the way they talk about someone it makes them sound like they have super powers or something...."He ran 10 yards in 2.5 seconds.....thats equivalent to the Space Shuttle speed after liftoff..." Things like that.
Allenslions - Just curious how you think the defense would improve if we did draft Prince. I know you're real high on Jimmy Smith and all. I mean, hes gotta be better than what we have, right??

Re: Poll - Who do you think the Lions take at 13?
Unfortunately the player the Lions pick is going to be which ever player falls to them at #13.
The question is what player will that be?
Prince Amukamara is highly overrated and isn't really a top 10 pick but would be a perfect pick at #13 for Detroit.
Jimmy Smith any player who shows up 'out of shape' at their pro day doesn't have what it takes to make in the NFL - not on my draft board.
Da'Quan Bowers if the knee is healthy - he won't be there.
Aldon Smith as of right now I'd say he's the player most likely to be there at #13.
Anthony Castonzo I call this the worst case pick - if everybody else is gone I'm ok with the pick he'd play OG, RT or LT. So at worst he replaces Pederman at guard and at best he replace Backus at LT.
Tyron Smith raw but talented worth the pick if nobody better is there.

I agree, is pretty good, but I doubt Mayhew will ignore both a 3rd receiver and RB.

Re: Poll - Who do you think the Lions take at 13?
how do i think prince would improve the defense.well if they go heavy zone he could hold his own but if he gets put in man he is gonna be in big trouble.if he could play up to houstons level in man i would be surprised.i mean the kid even blew a drill with mooch on gamechangers.did you also notice how little of him they showed of him on the show.you know why because Aaron williams was showing him up so bad.and i was at jimmy smith's proday and he was in great shape.i got him on the clock at a 4.37

Well hopefully the Lions feel this way and make something happen.

Re: Poll - Who do you think the Lions take at 13?
Rest assured, if the Lions select one of the corners at 13, they have done there homework, and will select whoever best fits what we do. The same goes for a DE, if that's the way they go. I have total faith that they make the best selection no matter who the selection is. It's not about who is ranked highly on the various big boards to be found on numerous websites. It's about who is the best selection for us.

I probably cheated on this when I picked J. smith.
Who I think they will take: Prince Who I want them to take: J. Smith

allen.....Why trade out of the 2nd 3rd round pick
I voted for Smith. I think his upside is very nice and if anybody can have an effect on his character it would be Gunny and Shwartz.

I really think Prince will fall to 13, although I hope they trade back and grab Jimmy Smith.

Re: Poll - Who do you think the Lions take at 13?
i really hope prince is gone by 13 because im not so sure about what he will bring to the team. if detroit wants to get them a cb in the first they could potentially take jimmy smith at 13 because he does have the talent to be taken there. allen was one of the first to say that the character issues werent that big of a concern and now im hearing that everywhere. i know mayhew talked a bit about jimmy and da'quan and while its probably just a smoke screen he really could potentially be softening everybody up for them taking jimmy at 13 because he is not worried about somebody else stepping up and taking him that early. its gonna be interesting come thursday night to see how the first round goes down, i cant wait

If the Lions are unable to trade back a few spots and take Jimmy Smith, I have no problem with them taking him at 13.
