Great pick. We needed a WR pretty badly, there is no one after Calvin and Nate.

Re: Poll - Who do you think the Lions take at 44?
Sorry, not a great pick. The Lions did need a WR, but not right now, and not necessarily another smurf type receiver. I'd have preferred a 4th round pick at WR if one of quality fell with some size.

Re: Poll - Who do you think the Lions take at 44?
They don't draft need, they draft BPA and we had MUCH bigger needs on D.
They clearly had this guy rated very high because there are some studs left on the board that are clearly agreed upon by most.

I like the Lions getting Mikel LeShoure, but a 3rd and 4th rounder when there are big needs on defense makes me cringe. Lions don't pick again until late fifth round......oh boy.

Re: Poll - Who do you think the Lions take at 44?
Lions are obviously staying true to there board and felt like Young was a great value that also fits a huge need. The trade up for LeShoure was worth the trade off, 1st round talent that had fallen, best big back in this years draft. I had him rated higher than Ingram. Sure I would have liked some LB's and corners too, but if they feel the value isn't there, then you have to trust them on it. IMO.

I am at peace with our selections. I think over 2 years, our personnel team has been amazing and done great things for us now and in the future. I truly believe we are honoring our board and BPA.
I say this, but might change my tune come week 1.
ONLY because this draft approach and our confidence and risk for reward leads me to believe that we are adressing at least one of the two needs (CB and LB) in free agency.
If this doesn't happen, I will wonder.
Thrilled with our team, and believing in our front office.

It makes me violently sick to think of all the resources we have spent over the years to try to get our Offense to respectability. Our Offense was good enough to win with as it was. Our Defense is what has held us back from winning. Even if we use the rest of this draft on defense, it won't be enough. How much are a 5th and a 7th round pick, in a draft where the talent falls off a cliff after the 4th round, really going to help? Not much. All we did for the defense was eliminate about 20 encroachments. Might as well stack 11 in the box. All linemen. And collapse the line of scrimmage instantaneously on every play. It will be our only chance. Even with that said, I am not saying that the players the Lions picked are bad players. I like all of them. But, to pass over better, higher rated DB's and LBers to take them makes me ill.

Thrilled with our team, and believing in our front office. The problem with that theory is: There is no guarantee that there will even be a FA period this year. I personally think that the Minnesota courts are full of manure and will be overturned. So, this thing is going to drag on for a while.

Even if it drags on until September, there will still be a FA period. They can't just say no one can sign anyone.
