It's official...

Not a good sign for Tressel era IF something bigger is learking behind the scenes.

Media didn't, USC actually did do all the things reported.

Gotta feel bad for Auburn who finished 13-0 (and an undefeated Utah team for that matter) and didn't even get a shot due to this crappy BCS format.

Thought about this some more, really need to give it to Auburn to make up for the 2011 Trophy that will be taken away in the next 5-6 years.

I think it's a big deal that they took this away, but all the players give the same answer, "we won it on the field". Yeah, but you did it with a ringer. I appreciate the fact that you were out there practicing everyday and all that, but you used an INELIGIBLE player. Sorry, your coach/school cheated. Deal with it. Even if you had no idea any of this were going on, you were still part of the team, and you still need to accept the fact that being part of a team you have to deal with the actions of everyone involved.

I think it's interesting that the BCS does this now, after having to appear in front of Congress to defend the system. Trying to make it seem like they draw a tough line on amateurism.

Effect on OSU? Little. They did set a precedent, but since TP seems to be the one that will bring down OSU, I doubt it would stretch back to the '02 championship. If it's found that Pryor was ineligible, then the Rose and Sugar Bowl wins will be vacated, but that's as far as it will go.

TO is bringing OSU down? Cuz I thought it was Tressel and his unproven pay-for-play schemes?

I do agree that it shouldn't effect the 2002 title game, because no one will likely have been declared ineligable. But if he is found to have done some or all the allegations (NOT ALREADY PROVEN TOTAL CRAP AND MADE UP), wouldn't the Big Ten titles and other BCS bowl wins be forfeited? I gues USC didn't forfiet games, just the title so maybe no?

Just speculation, because that's what we do here, but IFFFFFFF the "not already proven total crap and made up" allegations are proven true at some point, the games TP played in would probably be vacated, but the BCS wouldn't have anything to do with that. It would only be a BCS bowl game that they would decide on, not the Big 10 championships etc.

We do have precedent of wins being vacated by the NCAA (OSU vacated all games during 1998-2001 for the OBrien incident) if the players is important enough and the offense is great enough. Anyone know if the NCAA vacated wins for Bush's years?

All 12 wins from 2005 were officially vacated because of Reggie Bush's ineligibility.
