ESPN.com reports Detroit Tigers 1B Carlos Pena was recalled from Triple-A Toledo Wednesday, Aug 17. I don't like him because of the begining of the season when he was doing so poorly, but maybe Toledo did some good for him.

We put Guillen on the 15 day DL too... I'm not going to worry though; our season is done unless we win out.
They want to show other teams Pena and then we'll trade him I reckon...
This will be my hopeful 2006 roster:
1.) Placido Polanco 2B
2.) Carlos Guillen SS
3.) Chris Shelton 1B
4.) Magglio Ordonez RF
5.) Rondell White DH
6.) Ivan Rodriguez C
7.) Craig Monroe LF
8.) Curtis Granderson CF
9.) Brandon Inge 3B
With Nook Logan and Granderson splitting time...
I'm hoping we'll trade away Dmitri Young, Carlos Pena, and maybe Rondell White and Ivan Rodriguez; I'm also hoping Troy Percival and Bobby Higinson will leave Tiger land...
Also I'm hoping we'll sign one maybe two starters; trade away Young and Pena for prospects and Bull Pen relievers; and sign a closer...

Pena move is ilogical We call up Pena so now we have three 1st baseman? How on earth does this make sense? The only backup IF we have now is Macdonald!! We should've called up Ryan Raburn or Don Kelley!

I think they decided that the season is over, and they want to give deserving players a chance to play. They already have 3 utility middle infielders (Polanco, Infante, McDonald), and just wanted to add Pena because he was deserving.
Thames better be called up soon.
