 Re: 2012 Recruiting
Rivals has Pittman ranked as the 61st best player in the nation. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/r ... /rank-2867Good pickup for MSU, normally it would have been PSU, UM, Notre Dame all picking talent from Ohio... this is a good sign for MSU.

 Re: 2012 Recruiting
Go State! MSU is certainly benefiting from the goings on in Columbus.
Dantonio knows the state of Ohio so not a big surprise and lets not get too ahead of ourselves yet. I know Michigan was interested in this kid. It is bad enough when State beats UofM on the field but if they start beating them in recruiting as well might as well just blow up Ann Arbor.

A few top recruits leave each year for an out of state school, just not normally to MSU!!! Nice to see they can steal some talent from the other theifs.

 Re: 2012 Recruiting
He's quite good. There's a lot of legit word on the street that he tried to commit to UM a couple of weeks ago but they didn't accept it due to potential academic issues, same reason they didn't take Burbridge's commitment (plus they're still strong for several other Ohio DEs). I think Pittman still needs to pass the state test, though he'll have more chances to do that next year. Good get if he qualifies.

 Re: 2012 Recruiting
I heard the acedemic rumprs as well for UM and OSU, I usually don't buy that though. I think MSU legitemetly nabbed him.

 Re: 2012 Recruiting
UofM still in the mix for Adolphus Washignton out of Cinci who is rated a tad behind Pittman by Rivals and Chris Wormley out of Toledo, both DE so that might of had something to do with Pittman. I know it is early but Hoke seems to be doing well so far for 2012: http://insider.espn.go.com/college-foot ... ssrankings

 Re: 2012 Recruiting
Not exactly "recruiting" but Badgers added QB Wilson from NC State. http://www.foxsportswisconsin.com/06/27 ... eedID=5065He can play immediately because he was released from NC State.

 Re: 2012 Recruiting
OSU is definetly seeing problems arise in recruiting as there is no firm head coach: http://www.foxsportsohio.com/06/27/11/U ... eedID=8889

 Re: 2012 Recruiting
This article failed to mention that Kalis was in AA last weekend and Michigan is one of the schools at the top of his list now. I would think that OSU would want to at least add some stability to the program and either make a commitment to Fickell in some regards as to his status beyond interim or are they willing just to sacrifice the season to get their guy in there next year?

 Re: 2012 Recruiting
I believe another reason he has immediate elgibilty is that he graduated in three years and he can use his fourth year at a school of choice without sitting out a year. Should make the Badgers a front runner in the B10 and in the mix nationally.

 Re: 2012 Recruiting
It was likely written over the weekend and didn't get that info in there.
I go back and forth... can OSU get by with one year being unstabble and losing a few recruits? I tend to say yes, but I don't like it.

Its beginning to look like it will hurt them on recruiting for 2012, they will probably do OK on the field this year but might loose some depth over the next few years in loosing five star talent now. Plus, we don't know what the NCAA sanctions might be in regards to scholarships in the future.
