 Re: Available Free Agents?
I am sure Avril would love to stay in Detroit.. considering the DTs we currently have on the roster. Makes his job a bit easier.

BillySims wrote: Re-signing Cliff Avril just became priority #1. Even ahead of Houston. Avril has gone on record as saying that he wants to stay in Detroit, and if the Lions were to make him a fair offer he wouldn't shop himself around. That said, we don't have to worry about him in 2011 as others have already pointed out. Getting Chris Houston back, in regards to our own FAs, is priority number one....or at least it should be. Even if the Lions do make a play for Asomugha, they still need a second viable starter at the position.

 Re: Available Free Agents?
Njroar, Avril has not signed his tender yet, but I don't think it's a big deal. He has stated that he would rather sign a long-term deal instead. Besides, the Lions gave him the highest tender at the 1st and 3rd round pick level, so I don't think any teams are going to attempt to sign him.

Pro Football Talk wrote: Stallworth agrees to terms with Redskins Posted by Mike Florio on July 27, 2011, 9:34 AM EDT Receiver Donte’ Stallworth is leaving Baltimore. But he’s not going far.
A league source tells us that Stallworth has agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins.
Stallworth was suspended for all of the 2009 season after pleading guilty to felony DUI manslaughter. He has played for the Saints, Patriots, Eagles, Browns, and Ravens.
He contributed nearly 700 receiving yards to the Patriots 16-0 season in 2007.

They'll have to do some serious cap magic to sign Asomugha. I'm not saying it won't happen but...man, that's a lot of $$$ wrapped up in the CB position (especially considering that they also have Kyle Wilson under contract).

 Re: Available Free Agents?
I saw a twitter update from Peter King that several Jets players were told their contracts were gonna be restructured to open up some room to make an offer for Nnmadi.

Well San Francisco might have something to say about it, as my understanding is that they are making serious overtures to Asomugha's agent.

If the Jets get Nnamdi, they will become my new most favorite hated team! They are a close second behind the Cowpukes now. = Jets!

Haynesworth to the NE Patriots for a 2013 5th round pick.
