Re: ESPN Reporting Roy Williams to Chicago
Mr. Brick hands strikes again, totally hurt Chicago with poor play and execution. Gruden and other commentators immediately pounced on him.
Chicago looks to be in DEEP trouble, Gutless isn't the leader they thought he was, turns out he's a PRIMADONNA and doesn't show leadership to his team, as noted by several commentators last night.
Barber is the bright spot, and if the Lions could have landed him, we'd be pushing GB for the title I think!!!

PFT wrote: Criticism for Roy Williams mounts in ChicagoPosted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 24, 2011, 8:49 AM EDT The moment Roy Williams arrived in Chicago, he was installed as the “No. 1″ receiver, a guy who would start over last year’s leading receiver Johnny Knox. This struck us odd. So did the notion that Williams finally gave the Bears receiving group what they lacked: size or a “veteran presence.” It was as if Williams’ awful run in Dallas had never happened. Three weeks into the Williams experiment, more folks in Chi-town are starting to wonder what’s going on. Dan Pompeii of the Chicago Tribune writes that Williams has shown nothing in camp or in the preseason to prove he’s worthy of playing over Knox. (Quite the opposite. Williams dropped two passes in the last preseason game and admitted his fitness level isn’t where it needs to be.) Mark Potash of the Chicago Sun-Times writes Tuesday that Williams needs to get in shape, blaming Williams’ conditioning for his struggles. Somewhere, Jerry Jones sits smiling and happy that Williams is no longer the Cowboys’ problem. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... n-chicago/ All I can say is BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

All I could do was laugh.

Re: ESPN Reporting Roy Williams to Chicago
I just really don't understand what his problem is. So much talent, yet he can't put it together. It doesn't seem like he's not trying, it seems like he just has a mental block or something.

Re: ESPN Reporting Roy Williams to Chicago
Quote: Update: On Roy Williams and Ryan Grant
By Kevin Seifert Let's update two discussions we ramped up earlier Wednesday:
First, in an interview with local reporters, Chicago Bears receiver Roy Williams questioned whether he actually dropped a much-discussed pass in the first quarter of Monday's preseason game against the New York Giants. (Earlier: Williams has been dropping passes for years.)
Here's how that portion of the question and answer session went, courtesy Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com:
What about the drops in New York?
Roy Williams: "The drops? What happened? Who had a drop? I had a drop? I didn't have a drop, but if you want to count it you can. I think the DB made a great play to knock it out as soon as it got into my hands, so I didn't drop the ball. But if you want to call it a drop, go ahead. You said I had another one, too?
The one what went through your hands.
RW: "It went through my hands? The slant? Yeah, I got to catch that ball, man. My fault. I'll catch it next time, coach."
Let's just say that Williams appears to have taken up residence on the shores of a river in Egypt. Anyone who considers himself a front-line NFL receiver needs to make that catch.
I think that pretty accurately describes his problem.

Roy doesn't care....and it dates all the way back to when Kevin Jones berated him on the sidelines for dropping a TD pass, and Roy just walked away from him and tried to ignore him. Roy proclaims himself to be an elite receiver, and he could have been. Problem is, he lacks the drive to be the best.
