Manning out indefinitely, another neck "procedure" to come?
Looks like Peyton may be out for an extended period of time based on his bad neck. Wonder if this is true?
Radio host John Michael Vincent of ESPN 1070 in Indianapolis says via Twitter, citing multiple unnamed sources, claims Manning needs another procedure on his neck, and that he is out indefinitely.

And Irsay said he know nothing about it. Ever think they're trying to psyche out the Texans?

Although I never wish an injury on anyone, I'm glad he'll miss some time. Could not stand his smug attitude. Hellava player, but just didn't like his or what I perceived as his attitude on the sidelines when things were not going his way. I would also like to add love his commercials and what I perceive as his personality away from the game. Do I want him back in the game...ya...football is better with him playing.

I guess I never saw the attitude you are talking about on the field. My personal opinion is that he is the best QB of all times.

Re: Manning out indefinitely, another neck "procedure" to co
I'd like to see Peyton Manning return healthy, but if I'm running the Colts right now I'm considering the idea of life without him and how to move on. I don't know exactly how much he's supposed to be making this season or next, but the boys in the Indy front office have to start considering better ways to invest that money next year. It's too late to be productive with it this season, but for next years free agency period they could really make a serious upgrade at multiple positions, particularly on their offensive line.
If he is healthy before the end of the season, then that's one thing. But if this prove to be a chronic or long term condition, they need to move in a different direction, one that doesn't include Manning as their QB.

Re: Manning out indefinitely, another neck "procedure" to co
If he's out for the year they clearly will NOT be drafting anything but high. I would consider taking a QB very high next year no matter where they are to groom for a few years if Manning comes back healthy. There are also some very interesting developement projects hanging out there that could be traded for very cheap to try out.

Frok. So you're "glad he'll miss some time", but you want him back....?

Sources say he has undergone more sugery. If this story is true, which I suspect that it is, then he is done for they year.

I was leaning that way as well, it isn't good. Manning plays through even medium pain, this has to be serious for him not to play.

Since I really started getting obsessed over football, I dont think I've ever been "involved" in a season where Peyton wasnt the QB.
