With Boss out, who should be the 3rd starting LB?
I'm curious to see who everyone would like to see as the 3rd starting LB with Boss out. Let's assume Earl Holmes [edit] is gonna be in the middle, Teddy Lehman will start on the outside (weakside or strongside).

Earl Holmes will be in the middle with Lehman waiting in the wings and playing third down. Davis gets the nod at the Will and Curry is the Sam. Lehman, unless Davis bombs at the weakside will be starting in the middle by November, he's going to be too good to keep off the field. Teddy has never played the Sam over a TE, so it doesn't appear the Lions would force him into that role.

It's hard to know who the 3rd LB is, when 1 and 2 are so uncertain. We don't know what the team is going to do with Lehman yet. As of now, he has been playing at MLB in camp and performing well there. Once the team announces that he will play outside, every indication points towards him sitting on the bench in favor of Holmes at MLB, unless he beats him out for the starting spot. James Davis seems to be the starter at one of the OLB positions, but could get pushed by Lewis, and we also have Donte Curry who is unspectacular to say the least. I hope that Mariucci wakes up, and moves Teddy outside so we can start Lehman, Holmes, and Davis, leaving Curry and Lewis as adequate backups.

I personally hope that Davis can entrench himself as the Sam and Lehman takes over for Holmes in the not to distant future. I also believe Curry will not kill us if he is on the field. He is good in covering the TE in man, I'm just concerned about his ability to hold the point of attack in the run game.
GO LIONS!!
