I have and its clear that's your intention... And I think its a good example of a problem that with the electorate... People are more wrapped up in their ideologies and having their heroes.they listen to on the radio be right than they are making the country stronger... So they bash the other side of the isle, stretch the truth and sometimes flat out lie. Then when one side gets something passed, they hope their "opponent's" ideas fail regardless of whether it helps the country or not... It's why I refuse to take sides... People ally themselves more strongly to their ridiculous ideology than they do their country...

Sly,

I must say I'm surprised that you aren't a Bachman fan. Here's why:

1. She's a woman
2. Even at 50 something, she's not difficult to look at, unlike her blonde, dikish counterpart, that currently serves as SOS.
3.She supports a strong military
4. Border closing
5. Sits on many of the FI committees, and is well versed on our enemies
6. Is well aware of, and has put forth legislation to stop Obamacare and other laws.

I'm sure there are more reasons, but these are what I'm aware of. Cain, Perry, and Romney, are all men who could stack up well against Obama, but probably not as well as a Woman of substance. If she were to get the nomination, she could rock this country, much like Obama did, with the novelty of his race. However, she would actually bring intelligence, leadership, and common sense back to the country. I believe her claims of being ignored by the media are true, because they FEAR her. The other guys can be dissected and have claims made, even frivilous ones, that will turn them. But Senator Bachman has gender novelty, years of experience, and some wisdom to boot.

What say you?

Murtyle, you've got me all wrong. I'm more of an anti-socialist/pro-constitution guy than anything else. Hell, I even bash Republicans if they promote something that smells like socialism or goes against the constitution. Since Obama and libtard Democrats do both on a regular basis, I repeatedly call them out on it.

But its pretty delusional thinking to believe that any Republican candidate would do more to protect the constitution than what Obama is doing right now (other than RP of course).

IMO that is part of the problem. I just don't see any candidate/politician (any side) that is honest and is actually looking out for Americans. They are all part of the problem and will only end up looking out for themselves and their friends (more cronyism). It is just a never-ending cycle. Its really sad if you ask me. The people that we elect to protect and run this great country are the ones ruining it and there's really nothing we can do about it (except continue to protest and make our voices heard). Hell, you have to be rich in order to be elected and that excludes many good potential candidates. So much for 'Of the people, by the people and for the people' huh?

As an aside, have you ever asked yourself why it is that all Presidential candidates change their tune as soon as they are elected to office? How many have broken or 'forgotten' about their campaign pledges/promises? Is it really just 'politics' or is something else at play??? Again, its that never-ending cycle........

Wags,

Could it be special interests or lobbyists? They pump a lot of money into Congressmen and women in order to get favor, and this taints the system.

Why is it that it cost so much to run for re-election? Who laid the ground work that millions of dollars that should be going into the system instead of being spent by the system, is needed for re-election.

Had I been President of the United States, I would have said one thing, and then illustrated by print and website. "I President ______ am running for re-election in 2012, however, I am currently trying to fulfill my original contract as called by the people of the United States, so I will not take the time to run across the country at your expense, but will instead man my post as your President until I am re-elected, or asked to step down. To help you, the American people, my people, understand what we've accomplished over the course of this four years I have commissioned this website out of my salary, to illustrate what we have done, and hope to do in the next four years. If you feel that I have accomplished what you've asked me to do, then please consider me for your next President, if not, thank you very much for allowing me to serve. Till then, I will get back to work in leading this country."

Not only would this be DIFFERENT, but it would be refreshing, and truthfull. Washington needs a leader who will ban lobbyism outright, lead by example, and be willing to make the painful cuts in order to help the whole. I've said it before, as POTUS, take a pay cut, everything is paid for, and although the numbers would be small in comparison to the whole, the symbolism would speak volumes across the board. Just think $200k could keep 6 people employed at $30k a year and a number of smaller jobs with the remaining $20k, and that's just one leader being willing to part with some $. But you already know this isn't going to happen.

It sounds to me like you would have supported a particular candidate that I did, but who chose not to run. :D

There's a reason why the Democrats, lamestream media, and the Republican "establishment" villified and smeared her relentlessly. It's because she advocated for the same things you mentioned above. And now you wonder why others with similar principles refuse to get involved and suffer the same type of treatment?

and here it is again and again and again. I see this all the time (not exactly but similar circumstances)

if this is the case why dont more people vote for him?? How are we duped every election into assuming the man has no chance and a vote fo RP is a throw away canditorial vote? I just dont understand all the support and "love" that a huge part of the public that i speak to has, and yet a majority will also say he has no chance and they are really voting for "candidate X" instead. This is starting to annoy me. I really think he'd win the bid if everyone who liked him would actually do somethig silly and vote for the man! Throw away vote be damned!

IMO it doesn't matter, it is the person that is actually elected's responsibility to do the right thing, NO MATTER WHAT. THAT is what is means to serve the people.

I've already gone over several times my thoughts on your girlfriend, no need to rehash.

I hear ya, and I will more-than-likely vote for RP in the Primary, and if he does manage to get the Rep nomination, I'll be voting for him there too.

I'm going to vote for him in the primary for sure.

But he won't win. Let's stop kidding ourselves and be honest.

He isn't a great speaker. He doesn't look the part. The majority of voters in this country are very stupid and cannot comprehend the message RP is trying to spread--and he's bad at communicating it.

On top of that, many of the people who actually comprehend the message disagree with it. Either because they think bombing brown people with printed dollar bills is in the best interest of this country, or because they want free crap from the government.

Ron Paul has a very rapid base of about 10-15% of Republican voters. These are people who both get the message and like it. But this number will never grow, because the rest either won't get the message or won't like its implications. Libertarianism scares a lot of people--and it should, its a scary philosophy. In time, we will win out. But not for another decade or two.

I disagree with domestic policy outweighing foreign policy at this point in time. RP wants to hold hands with Iran and sing Kumbyeya... That can't happen. We absolutely can't allow Iran to get a nuke. That would be catastrophic.

I agree that international/foreign policy is critically important - but not because of matters of defense... but because of matters of international finance.

On nukes... this is only my (strong) belief, and I will read but won't argue it if you disagree: People said the same thing about China ... and then Pakistan. And North Korea is on the list too ... but guess what? There is no calculus that even an insane brain can muster than would result in a new nuke power dropping their baby bomb onto an established nuke power. I believe developing nukes is a defensive move, with assured destruction trumping some minor capability... and the rest is military-industrial complex positioning and fearmongering.

Ignorant people martyr themselves - but not countries. It will not happen... IMO.
