Politico’s Reid Epstein reports that while former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson has expressed interest in pursuing the Libertarian Party’s presidential nomination, the LP has a different choice:
Quote:
Libertarian officials are still hoping Ron Paul will reconsider and seek their nomination at the Las Vegas convention in May. Barring that, they confirmed, they’re pursuing the interest Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura has expressed to them about coming back into the arena to run on their line....

At Ventura’s instigation, [Libertarian Party chairman Mark] Hinkle said he spoke two weeks ago with the former Minnesota governor and pro wrestler, who was elected in 1998 on the Reform Party line, about running for president but came away with the impression that Ventura is looking beyond 2012.

“Jesse is more interested in 2016 than he is in 2012,” Hinkle said. “But I think he’s serious. If Ron Paul ran as a Libertarian, I think he definitely would be interested in running as a vice presidential candidate. He’s thinking, ‘If I run as the vice presidential candidate under Ron Paul in 2012, I could run as a presidential candidate in 2016.”
Ventura wrote a book a few years ago with the plaintive title Don’t Start the Revolution Without Me, so yeah, he probably would be quite happy to piggyback along with Paul in the hopes of positioning himself for 2016. But will registered Libertarian Party voters go for it? Ventura may sometimes do a good job of spotlighting various government misdeeds and excesses, but he’s also a hardcore conspiracy theorist who’s more likely to alienate potential voters than he is to attract them.

Still, Ventura knows how to put on a show and he's always ready for the spotlight. I expect he'll throw his feather boa in the ring.

The Libertarian party needs to get a solid candidate one of these days and really start to pick up some votes. They will likely steal theirs from the Republicans so I hope to see another party come out of the democratic side of the equation and really start giving us some party options.

You have it's called the Communist Party, although they'd rather you didn't announce that so much...

I'd say Obama's Democratic party is about as Communist as Bush's Republican party was Fascist.

That said, does anyone else recall how many Dems/Leftists/Libtards/Whateverdumbtermyouwanttouse consistently called Bush a Fascist? And yet, the Repubs/RightWingers/Racists/Whateverdumbtermyouwanttousee doing the same thing to Obama with the Socialist tale. And you're supposed to be the better choice? One day there will be REAL leadership that will move people away from these childish, immature name-calling escapades and actually get some real work done.

agreed, people are so dug in one "their sides" that they can see nothing but flaws with one party and can't see the flaws in their own party.

Truth be told, the mess we are in, especially from a debt standpoint, is the result of the policies of both the Republicans and Democrats. Even those who can see flaws in their own party yet claim "lesser of two evils" aren't ever going to help solve the issues we have today.

We have a left leaning group and a right leaning group, we actually need parties much further to each side and one smack dab in the middle to have any real choice.

Sure do. As a reminder:

And I could come up with thousands of more examples if you'd like. The pictures posted above is just one of the reasons why I have become the monster that I am today. Most conservatives are afraid to sink to the level of the libtards, so I kinda try to pick up the slack for them. If you saw me go on one of my epic rants in real life, you would probably run away screaming, like so many others have done. I will never back down from those commie bastards and will continue to bring the fight directly to them. The only way I'll stop is if they do it first, but that's not likely to happen.

More importantly though, Obama and his minions on the far left truly are socialists, whether you care to believe it or not. They may not be the textbook definition of "pure" socialism, but their policies and worldviews are in line with fabian socialism and democratic socialism. Just look at the platforms of Communist Party USA and Democratic Socialists of America, and tell me how they differ much from the Democratic Party platform. They don't.

Furthermore, atleast I can respect CPUSA, DSA, and the Social Democrats/Democratic Socialists from Europe for being honest enough to state who and what they are, while the current Democratic Party of the US blatantly lies to the American people about who or what they are. As I've stated many times before, JFK wouldn't even recognize his party today and would roll in his grave if he saw what has happened to it.

I mocked Minnesota BIG TIME when they elected Jessie The Guvna Ventura...then I heard him speak. I stopped mocking and started paying attention. when after 2 years he gave a speach that he had fullfilled each and every promise he made durring his campaign I became a fan. He's cocky, arrogant, and he's poompus. But the man keeps his promises and plays lacky to no one. In todays day and age you have to respect a "politician" that does that.

OK, I just edited out my previous post too. Wags got mad earlier and that made me mad, so I responded harshly. I think it would be best if he and I sort this out through PMs or email instead of venting on the board.
