I'm Going to the Lions Game
Can't believe I'm about to spend a bunch of money to go watch the Lions lose in person.
Oh well, never been to NO--should be a fun weekend either way.

Re: I'm Going to the Lions Game
Have fun regardless! I never thought I'd be doing the same thing in reality when I went to Lambeau on Sunday. I thought I'd be celebrating the end of TWENTY YEARS of failure, but they just added to the streak instead. Thank God I was able to make a swift and hasty retreat without anyone making an effort to F with me. I'm sure I looked about as angry as I felt at the moment so that probably helped me, but if I would have walked all the way back to the bus with a bunch of jag-offs yelling "Lions Suck!" etc I would have probably snapped at some point.

And if the offense plays like they did last Sunday, we can beat anyone. Only problem is, if the defence plays like they did last Sunday, we can lose to anyone!

Re: I'm Going to the Lions Game
I'd love to go to the game... 8hr drive for me 1 way... but I'd have to win tickets to even have a chance.

bah! Life's a journey, not a destination. if you cant have fun at a playoff game (win or lose)then cough those tickets up man! I had fun going to lions games for most of the "aughts" and they did nothing but lose. you HAVE to enjoy being at a playoff game!

Should be a blast, man! I tell you what, even though it would be tough as heck, imagine the thoughts crossing all our minds if they made it to the Super Bowl. Be a lot of money to drop for those tickets.

Oh well, never been to NO--should be a fun weekend either way. N.O. was a GREAT time! There is a cool concert area set up outside of the Superdome, and Bourbon Street is a BLAST! I JUST got back from N.O. yesterday. I was down there for the U of M game. Pat O'Brien's is amazing, and allegedly the originator of the "Hurricane." The oyster bar ACROSS from ACME Oyster (I forget what it's called) is great, and much better than Acme Oyster, if you're into that sort of thing (I am). Emril's was just alright. If you want a fine dining experience I would go elsewhere, Ember's Steak House or Arnaud's (but you're supposed to wear a suit coat at Arnaud's) would be better choices. The Old Absinthe House was a cool spot, but pricey. Still neat to have a drink at a bar that Mark Twain went to! Cafe Du Monde and Jackson Square were definitely worth the stops. The Beinet's at Cafe Du Monde are a great hangover cure. Yo Momma's had probably the best burger down there. They have one with peanut butter that is amazing. You'll have a great time. I know I did!
