 Re: Sugar Bowl!!!
I hate to say it, but Michigan got lucky. But a win is a win.

 Re: Sugar Bowl!!!
VERY LUCKY!!! They got lucky with ND, and a few other games as well, but as you said it's a win.
I'm happy for Hoke and what he's trying to do, and I love the way he's deferring the attention to his seniors and what they've done. I believe this will bode well for him in the future, and for Michigan as well. I am so thankful for the new Michigan Defense Coordinator and what he's done with this years crop. I am excited to see what will happen in years to come!!!
But remember, as SAD as the BCS is, "Spartan tears taste like SUGAR!"

 Re: Sugar Bowl!!!
Sorry; had to throw that last one in, because I saw the sign last night.
Although STATE got HOSED by the BCS, and I fully agree that Idaho AG should file an anti-trust lawsuit against the BCS, it's a sham as an organization.

 Re: Sugar Bowl!!!
Congrats to Michigan, they (and the Big Ten) needed this win. That was another great game to watch!

 Re: Sugar Bowl!!!
Some say we got lucky. I agree. But, it wasn't last night where we got most of our luck.
We got lucky the day we hired Brady Hoke. I'm telling you, with the way team turned around the minute we signed him, without the benefit of a full recruiting season, he took over the disaster that was left behind by DickRod, and made it into an 11 win team and a BCS Sugar Bowl winner.
Hoke is going to go down in Michigan history to be as revered as BO.
11-2 after DickRod destroyed the program! That was no small accomplishment.
I can't wait to see the product on the field after he has had 4 full recruiting classes in. I see a bunch of National Championships in the near future.

 Re: Sugar Bowl!!!
I don't know how anyone could say that Rich Rod destroyed the program. We're playing with his Juniors right now and we went 11-2 with HIS players. 90% of what he did "wrong" wasn't his fault. The School, not Rich Rod was to blame for his failure.
That said, great game, even better time! New Orleans was AMAZING, and I will definitely be going back!
Jake Ryan did an AWESOME job. I'm more confident now that we will be able to compensate for losing Mike Martin's next year. I'm happy that we will be losing JT Floyd. That dood gets beat like a rented mule. I'm excited to see Countess and Kovaks with another year under their belts. Losing Hemmingway is going to hurt, but hopefully we get Stoneham back next year.
That said, I hope we are able to move Denard to an H-back or slot WR role. He's not a Qb, hands down. He will never be a Qb in the NFL, and his best shot at having a career in football is at WR. Move him now and let Gardner take the helm at Qb.

But, Rich Rod destroyed the program because of his record, plus the fact that he brought shame onto the program with that investigation. Rich Rod also seen the end of College footballs longest consecutive bowl streak. Funny how Brady Hoke takes over and gets Rich Rods players to perform far better than Rich Rod could get them to perform.

Rich Rod also seen the end of College footballs longest consecutive bowl streak. Funny how Brady Hoke takes over and gets Rich Rods players to perform far better than Rich Rod could get them to perform. The offense is actually worse, and with another year under Denard's belt and a much improved offensive line the should be a LOT better... The only thing RR really did wrong was failed to adjust his defensive scheme. RR may have saw the end of the longest consecutive bowl streak, but ANYONE, even Lloyd Carr, would have had trouble making a bowl game RR's first year. He had two freshman Qbs, the best of which isn't even playing football anymore. LLoyd saw it as a "good time to leave" because he could see the writing on the wall. He KNEW it was going to be a rough year, and it made it worse to have to transition schemes in the middle of all of that mess. That wasn't RR's fault, as much as you don't want to admit it.

You want to boil this being RR's fault because of the kicker? We're using the SAME kicker, genius. Apparently Brady Hoke has to go too then, right? Ridiculous...

 Re: Sugar Bowl!!!
we're using the same kicker we were using 3 years ago? good god the kids gotten some practice in then. while he needed it we SHOULD have put someone else on the field.
And if it isnt the head coaches job to make sure he has adequate staffing in each position..especially soemthing as repalceable as a college kicker...who the hells fauklt is it? the waterboys?
Common now...you can make excuses all you want but RR ONLY paid attention to the offense. his D and his special teams sucked in SPECTACULAR fashion. thats the head coaches fault no matter how you spin it.

Yes, Gibbons is a Junior. Allegedly he kicks great in practice, but can't get it together in front of 100k people. From what I've heard, UofM regularly has problems with that. Apparently it is a lot easier to kick in front of 60k people. We've tried out 3 other Freshman kickers, and none of them could beat out Gibbons. Brady Hoke tried another Freshman out THIS YEAR and he STILL couldn't beat him, so I guess he is incompetent too.
