20 straight home wins and counting...
The Wings have tied two teams for most consectutive home wins. They can break the record with 21 if they beat (my hated) Dallas Stars on Tuesday.
Go Wings!

Great job by the Wings, especially with Jimmy Howard being injured. Now, if they can only figure out how to be better than .500 on the road.

I really don't think Howard is all that good, and I think we should trade him before his contract is up and get someone else to play net for us. I just can't see paying a mediocre goalie a ton of cash.

Agreed, especially considering the age difference: Quote: 35 Jimmy Howard 6' 0" 218 Mar 26, 1984 27 31 Joey MacDonald 6' 0" 197 Feb 7, 1980 32 and they're stats: Quote: GOALIES: W L OT Sv% GAA J. MacDonald 6 1 1 .934 1.66 J. Howard 32 11 1 .924 2.03 Mc D's only played in 8 games....yeah, that's not enough for me to trade Jimmy...

Re: 20 straight home wins and counting...
Wait wait wait... You guys are insinuating that I want to roll with McDonald. That's not true at all. I'm suggesting that we could likely trade Jimmy Howard for someone better that costs the same or less. He's going to likely demand a nice pay raise after his contract is up in the following season. I like where he's at now ($2.5 million), but I wouldn't want to pay him more.

Goodness knows the D isn't going to be strong for the entire run; they're going to need a strong goalie, especially on the road.

AND..
We are the best team in the NHL right now, why would you trade a guy that has had a huge hand in getting us there? Keep the team together.

The only problem I see is "keeping the team together" when he wants to double his salary (which is a very likely number). I wouldn't mind keeping him through this season, but I would like to not be stuck in a situation where we're forced to pay the guy (no other options on the board) or he's walking (potential Avril situation), and paying him means that we can't afford to keep some of our depth, which is what separates us from the pack.
